In my 65 I have a 68 383 with eddy heads and headman headers #6 and 5 plug are tight but I just bought 2 DEI protectors for plug wires from auto zone, No issues other than that. I also have a fire core electronic ignition vacuum advance no issues at all
Well a little update. I took the block I had it hot tanked and it was already 30 over . Had the rotating assy balanced , I ordered new forged pistons while they were balancing it. Ordered an Edelbrock top end kit for it and got it together this weekend and dropped in this afternoon. Just sat...
It also has what I believe are Keith black pistons. Bottom end looks to be balanced , A weiand dual plane intake 750 Holley, headers 2and half inch exh. 2500 stall and 4 10 gears
Just a cruiser with a little thump to it , nothing real aggressive. , I have a 68 383 stock bore , rotating Assy. Looks to have been balanced . Grind marks on rods and drill holes and extra weld in some of the holes in the crank. 906 heads pretty stock looking . 2500 stall and 4-10 gears any...
Well I got around to pulling the motor. Got it tore down. It has a lobe wore off the cam and lifter wore pretty bad. everything else looked good. So I plan on new bearings rings a new cam and lifter set. New oil pump just for precaution. Now to decide what cam to order. Thanks for all the...
I thought the same thing. I ordered a complete gasket set and have reached out to a local Mopar guy and he said he will guide me through it. I want to do the work myself so I know and to me that’s the best way to learn. I will make it run as good as it looks .
I would guess the shop that did the work probably seen an easy mark. The old guy that had it wasn’t in good health and had it “ a little milder” according to his son. He didn’t drive it much after it was done. I drove it around late summer last year and put it up. Never ran as good as I thought...
Thanks guy's . I figured it was missing some items. I guess now to decide I have an extra set of rollers and push rods I may do a cam swap and change a few items out give her a little more get up and go. Thanks for all the replies and helpful links.
I have been struggling to get this motor to run right. First it wouldn't hold a time the timing mark jumped around on the balancer . So I changed the whole ignition system and it holds the timing mark great now but Still not running right. I hear a slight popping from number 2 cylinder so I...
Had a fellow on another forum do a photoshop for me. I am just thinking of changing the car a bit. What do you guy's think? Hurst Dazzler in gold . I love the old school Cragars but am thinking of something different.
For now mine are the same size all the way around 15 X 7 Cragar's . I will be putting a wider tire and wheel on the back in the spring. And thinking of either torque thrust or the Chrysler road wheel.
Didn't really care about dual points, My distributor is kind of sloppy . And I had this on the shelf. I got it in a bundle of old parts and really never figured on using it . But if it fit and I had it why not use it . No money out. But it will not fit my 383 in the car and I do not have the...
