I have a 1963 Plymouth with a 426 Max wedge. Built with 11:1 compression Hydraulic Roller cam MSD ignition. Read all of the Horror stories from Chrysler about not idling and must warm the engine before driving.
When I first got the engine running and ever since I can start the car without...
I have a 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury with a 426 Max wedge. I read an article in one of the car magazines for a guy that had the same thing as i d except his Max wedge is the 13:1 compression. I ordered the complete Griffin radiator with shroud and dual electric fans. Drove it this summer in 95...
I have a 426 Max wedge and a 542 440 Stroker. Same problem you are having. I called the Cam Hotline at Comp cams The tech told me to go .050 to .080 past zero lash. This take some calculating for your Rocker setup but in my case comes ort to 3/4 to 1 turn. Still have clatter. Same cam in both...
I have a complete rebuilt 426 Max Wedge.
Comp Cam with Hydraulic roller lifters. had it assembled by the machine shop that did all of the machine work. When I first started it had a lot of lifter noise. I pulled the Rocker covers and re adjusted them. The Machine shop told me they go 1/4 to 1/2...
I have a 1966 440 I had built in 2013. It is a 540 Stroker now with Aluminum heads and 2- 4's. It had a crack similar to the photo above. They fixed it the same way and I do not Baby it. Still OK and what a monster

I have a 426 Max Wedge in a 63 Sport Fury. I added a March Pulley Setup plus a Griffin Radiator. I had to cut the flanges off of the sides of the Radiator and move it forward right against the Radiator support. It fits now but very tight
Be careful! the Max Wedge has notches at the top of the cylinders for larger Exhaust valves in the Max wedge heads and the Valve covers are 4 bolt. I have one in my 63 Sport Fury
I have a 540 Stroker Motor. Had 10 miles on it and lifters started rattling. Pulled the Valve covers and the end had broken off of one of the pushrods. I had the engine proffessonaly built. Got a new set of pushrods and installed them and 5 miles later same thing happened. Engine has a Hydraulic...
Built a Stroker 540 Motor a few years ago. Machine shop did the entire build. Comp Hydraulic Roller Cam, Lifters and pushrods. 5 miles and started to hear lifter rattle. pulled the cover and a pushrod end had completely came off the push rod. They gave me a new set of pushrods and before I got a...
I have a complete 4 speed setup. It includes the flywheel (resurfaced) back to the rear tires.
Flywheel and clutch are good. T10 4 speed with Hurst shifter. Bell housing with Z bar and clutch lever. Driveshaft, Rearend, springs and wheels. Transmission insides look real good. Rearend is a 3:23 1...
