    "Is the block stamped HP like 68-70?" Yep, on the pad by the distributor it's stamped 383 and then below it's stamped HP. the build date is Nov 70. In just thought if someone has the car and is looking for it, it's available.

    Thanks- That's an interesting take on the trim around the back. I did have a long time mopar restoration guy also say that it was factory, because of the way the studs were put on. I took the trim off though and have kept it. We then ground off the 'rivets/studs' when doing the bodywork 2 years...

    yes you are correct--that is the original style air cleaner set-up the car came with(in the picture from dmoore 2 above with the blue dist. cap) I threw the whole air filter tray, filter and top orange lid in the garbage in 1979 when I went to a chrome lid. I still remember the garbage truck...

    I just had my car ceramic coated--not sure what the consensus is here whether it's needed or not. It's expensive but looks a little shinier, and now protected.

    Got the vacuum/timing issue sorted out. It was a bad diaphram in the brand new distributor. Installed another new distributor; The timing advances perfectly now when hooking up the vacuum hose from distributor to carb. Even the idle vacuum is now up around 16 inches from the 9 inches that it...
