I went with a A-518 swap myself to get overdrive. There are some mods to do but they sell all the parts now (I had to get some pieces made), and the difference is night and day. I also got a locking torque converter.
Mine was 3 on the tree already, and going to manual would have been a LOT...
Yes. I went with the JW Ultra-Bell setup. And we welded a half in stock (see pictures above), after cutting out the crossmember. See the link in my previous post since they now make the crossmember (I had mine custom built and powder-coated - but it did not exist last year when I started my...
Love the lines of the 70...the scallop. The front and the rear end are both bad ***. (Yeah, this is my Satellite, but with the RR hood and rear bezels, it is the same car). I'm going with the GTX blacked-out rear and the GTX honeycomb front when I get the money to replace more broken...
Used a PATC kit:

We had to use a switch that hooked up to the speedo for going in to OD at 43 mph.

1970 Plymouth Satellite. Bumper question!
Main reason I bought the kit was to replace some hood / door bumpers. Not really sure the URGENCY - but the engine compartment is almost complete, so what the heck. :)
Talked to the guy who sold them to me - but he does not have the info and...
Guess it depends on what you want. Nothing of mine worked - gauges, AC, heat and all AC components were long removed. So I had vintage air installed. I think the fans are too loud - but I do not know what the original sounded like. :) But they do make a kit that clones the original...
You can see them under the dash. (3 knobs).
They made a kit to replace the stock controls - it is Vintage Air, but my mechanic did not order. It works and the original controls were clunky anyway. Horrible even.
Very nice! My '70 was anything but stock...yours looks like a dream compared to mine. I have body work / paint / interior / suspension / sound deadening / and more. My bumpers have to be rechromed...sigh. Yours look awesome!
But at least the engine and tranny are almost done! (Engine...
In the midst of having this done to my 70 Plymouth.
They do make a crossmember:

And a weld-in tunnel (B bodies should be any day if not already exist...they told me)...
