    Chicken or the Egg?

The Charger 500 came about as a way of reducing drag from the front grille, which was acting as a huge air catcher.....and making the rear window area more aerodyamic to keep the air moving better over the rear window. All to combat the Ford Talladega. The 500 fell short...and so the Daytona...

Thinking of selling my 1967 Charger

I am thinking about changing my Mopar plans. May be selling my 1967 Charger, new black interior, new hp dual exhaust, DoH mags, built 360 w/6pak, auto, ps, pb, extra parts, no rust, straight body. Needs brake work (may need a power booster) and carbs need freshing up, plus new print. Looking...

What is needed for rear defrost setup?

Ok..the horse isn't quite dead yet, so I figured I'd send this into the mix. On the rear of the passenger side panel there is molding line that is a call out for a rear defroster unit. So there appears as if at one point there was a plan to have one...but....

Are factory Daytona/Superbird Pieces Stamped With Part Numbers?

Additional, several Daytona owners found different colored deck lid hinge bolts on their cars. Remember that these cars were built quickly in order to get them out on the track. Part numbers were never an issue.

Are factory Daytona/Superbird Pieces Stamped With Part Numbers?

    Dewinged and nosed Superbirds

Back in the day, when I owned my original 426/4sp Superbird: I was driving to lunch in Whittier, Calif. When I came across a yellow RR that had the plug and rear window…but a stock front clip and no wing. I flagged the owner down (turns out he was a Sheriff) and asked if he was interested in...

What Do You Like Better, The Superbird Or Daytona?

So back to the original question…..Which one? Being a Charger guy, my heart leans towards the Daytona. But having owned two ‘Birds and one Daytona Clone….I have to go with the Superbird as it offered high impact colors, a better looking nose and wing, and…..of course the most “fun” horn...

What Do You Like Better, The Superbird Or Daytona?

The Daytona was designed by the racing side of Chrysler with no input from the styling department. However, when the Superbird was designed they allowed the styling guys to add their input (to a point anyway). So the Superbird was a bit less aerodynamic than the Daytona, BUT, Plymouth had won...

What Do You Like Better, The Superbird Or Daytona?

The real answer should have been…what difference does it make….both of the wingcars were the most outrageous vehicles Detroit ever sold through the showroom. Pretty…No…functional…Yes. They were built for one reason, and one reason only….to win races. (The street versions were a necessary...
