Hi everyone. My dad has run into a bad string of luck with his '66 Satellite. We are certain his matching numbers 383 block is cracked due to an incompetent machine shop, (less than 1500 miles on rebuild). His current block is date coded 12/8/1965, and we are on the hunt for one date coded...

Jeff_383, no exact numbers? 3,9xx ish? My dad is restoring his '66 383 4 speed that has a lot of options, but just knowing 383 4 speeds would be nice to know.

Sooo. Where does a person get one of these reports? I'm not interested in paying G.G. for this info, as it's not important enough.

That is partially true. C2C does sell the Sherman parts, however, they were producing their own quarters as well that fit differently and were thicker gauge, but the corner bends and wheel lips weren't right. My dad bought a pair for his '66 and found this out. So they let him have them for...

Ok patrick66, how 'bout 383 4-bbl cars built (hardtops) in '66? If it can be even further broken down to 4 speeds even better!!

You're funny!! My seats are the parts that are the correct color, but arm rests and door panels are needing sprayed, so they're the only thing that needs to be pulled to avoid overspray. Plus, headliner isn't the same color, and normally isn't unless everything is black!!

I talked to the paint store today. Only way to do it is trial and error if I bring my car to them. What I hoped to avoid, but my only choice.

Yeah, it's going to be a crap shoot. Door panels and arm rests are not going to work. Arm rests are brand new black colored, door panels are nice, but slightly faded, so they're out. No excess vinyl from under the seats either, plus, like we said it's hard to get a good match from textured...

I know I can go to a local auto paint Store and have given it thought, however, like you said, I'd need a smooth piece with the correct color for them to get a sample from, so I'm f***ed there. I also thought it would be nice to just be able to order a can ready to go whenever I needed a refill.

Ok, so where is everyone getting their interior "paint"? My '66 Satellite has factory 13" arm rests with 614 gold color. I have new arm rests that need recolored the correct 614 gold. Herbs, Classic Industries, Year One, Legendary Auto are all strike outs.

Nice find!! I'm a sucker for '63-67 B bodies, and Chargers, and Super Bees, anything with a 6 pack or Hemi, well heck, anything MOPAR!!! LOL!! Anyway, very clean and solid, I like the idea to drive it while you accumulate parts. Big blocks love these cars. :)

The difference is in the trim, plus Satellites and Belvedere II's were hard tops, Belvedere I's were post cars. Roof and rest of the car is pretty much the same regardless of the 3 models.
