    1964 727 rebuild - It's not right

Here is an update. I ordered new park and shift cables back on Black Friday. They arrived late January. Finally got a warm weekend with no rain last week and got the car up on my new hydraulic lift which made it a lot easier to replace the cables. I found that the bolt hole for the shift...

    1964 727 rebuild - It's not right

Thanks for the info. When I tried this Monday the light never turned off even with the cable out, so, looks like I will have to take the pan off and see what's going on. I need a new park cable because it leaks and I have only found both as a set. I will get those pricy cables ordered and see...

    69 Coronet front disc conversion

If you change to disc brakes you will have to change the booster. The most knowledgeable guy about the booster is Ram Man. Ram Man / Products / MOPAR CLASSIC CARS & TRUCKS (therammaninc.com) My brother and I have both done brake conversions and the booster sent by others were incorrect, but...

What did I blow up in my 727?

I dropped mine in low leaving a stop light and bang. The sprag and a few other items were toast. I think that was the last straw because it has some issue for months before that.

    1964 727 rebuild - It's not right

That I don't know. Hopefully I can get some time in the next few weeks to adjust the shift cable. If that doesn't fix it I will probably drop the pan and check that all out.

Put some Heat Shield on my exhaust manifolds and greatly reduced the temp under the hood.

    1964 727 rebuild - It's not right

The line pressure was my first though as well. To adjust that you have to drain the fluid and take the pan off, correct? I have not done a tranny rebuild before, but if I had it at my little brother's shop we would have given it a go.

    1964 727 rebuild - It's not right

Had my 727 rebuild a few weeks ago. Apparently this shop is not familiar with MOPAR transmissions. Before the rebuild, when I suspected the tranny was failing but everything shifted fine, I could barely get the wheels to turn power braking. Now it will smoke the tires, so it's definitely...

I need some heat shields for my 64 426 as well. I have stock exhaust manifolds and those things are 800F at idle. I think its making the power steering fluid too hot, plus it sucks all that heat in the intake. May need some way to get cool air intake.

Thought I would respond to the request for more info. Here is the story. These pictures were taken the day of my oldest daughter's wedding. My mom and dad had a wedding picture of them in the back seat of his 64 Sport Fury, so we did something similar with my daughter and her husband. I am my...

    727 Torqueflite - 64 Sport Fury 426 Street Wedge

This one is a little weird and I have tried a few things from the forums but nothing yet. 727 3-speed auto oil is full. Kickdown is connected and checked the adjustment. I am going to reset the control cable adjusting wheel per the manual this weekend. When stopped, if I put it in Drive I...
