    Fixed My Exhaust Drone

Dual exhaust, cross over, 2.5 inch tubing, headers and Magnaflow mufflers. Drone at 1400 - 1800 was irritating. Had a similar issue with my 62 Chrysler. Made these cars no fun to drive. Fixed the Chrysler drone 15 years ago, now it was time to tackle the Polara. 1/4 wave resonator is the key...

No Power Steering Assist At Idle

Although this pertains to my 1962 300, I thought I'd put this out to you guys. The power steering works fine at speed, but at idle I have very little or close to no assist. I rebuilt a TRW pump previously because it was leaking, and it worked fine. About 1000 miles after rebuild, the no assist...

TKX Conversion - SST Supplied Hydraulic Clutch Components

In conversation with Shane at SST regarding their hydraulic components, I asked about their supplied master cylinder vs a Wildwood unit. He told me their supplied unit is identical in every way to the Wildwood except the name. Does anyone have any experience between the two? I see a lot of...

Bell housing, Clutch and Pressure Plate Recommendations for TKX Swap

Trying to get all my ducks lined up for my TKX conversion (currently automatic) in my 64 Dodge. I will be dealing with SST for most, if not all the necessary components if applicable. I’ve done a lot of research on this conversion but, not ever having a stick car before (except my 73 Vega), I...

    Possible (Probable) Scam

While posting an ad in Wanted parts, I got this reply. Contacted by FBBO member Marcky11, Stated that he had dealt with "Lily" for parts. Reasonable prices and fast turn around. Told me to text 17036649458. I did. Photos sent right away, with prices. When pressed for better quality pics, non...

    Power Steering Pump Issue

I have the pictured PS pump in my car. I rebuilt it about 800 miles ago. It worked fine until last week. I now have very little, if any "parking lot" assist. When the car starts to move forward, the assist returns. Increased engine rpm also helps. While driving, there are no issues. Could the...

    Edlebrock 1405 carb surge

I have an Edlebrock 1405 600 cfm carb with auto choke. Fast idle works as it should. Issue - when engine is cold and I'm in cruise mode, the engine is surging. At operating temperature, it runs perfect. Carb currently has .98 jets in primary circuit and metering rods 1446 ( .068 x .042). Phoned...

727 to Tremec TKX 5 Speed in a 64 Dodge

THINKING of this conversion for a future project. I've read quite a bit about this conversion on FBBO, but most are for 66 - 70 models. I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this on a 62-65 B body and what, if any, are the challenges. Two concerns are trans tunnel mods and shifter location...

Head Light Bezel - 64 Polara - Black Inserts

My car is in for paint and I'm polishing all trim and have stripped any paint from the trim. The inserts on the outer headlight bezels were painted gloss black. Not sure if the gloss is correct. Was the factory color gloss, semi - gloss or flat. Or perhaps it's a personal choice. Comments welcome.

    Door Panel Arm Rest Repair

Any one ever repair the plastic arm rests on door panels? Part in question is from a 64 Dodge. Where the mounting screws go through the arm rest to secure to the door, the plastic ribbing is cracked. Is this fixable? Plastic welding comes to mind, but not sure.

    1964 Polara Trunk Mat

Looking to order a trunk mat for my 64 Polara Convert. Some companies list only a mat for all B bodies 63-65 - all models. Some companies offer mat specific either for converts, 4 and 2 Dr. models as well as Dodge and Plymouth being different. Does anyone have any definitive info on this? Is a...

1964 Polara Door Panels - Vinyl Painting

I recently changed the door panel cards on my 64 Polara - learning curve but they turned out better than the 60 year old units. Not perfect but acceptable for me. New re-pops are about $850 US which equals about $1300 Canadian by the time they reach my door. The bottom of the vinyl has old paint...
