    What is this sound?

Sorry for the long delay. We finally found out the issue: the power steering pump. The pump pulley has a lot of back and forth play and hits the pump body. Tightening the belt got rid of the sound. I am 75% that was the issue  I checked around the flexplate, used a digital scope as...

    What is this sound?

I have a digital one as well. It didn't seem like there was much space between the flex plate and block but I'll give it a try.

    What is this sound?

But it’s a banging sound. Frequency of the bang goes up with rpm.

    What is this sound?

It did have the inspection cover. Is there a separate tc shield? I did lose a carburetor nut recently:/ Have had this car for about six months now and haven’t done any work around that area…I think I’ll have to really get under it while it’s running and see what’s going on.

    What is this sound?

I’ll do that. Was afraid of something exploding in my face fwiw, there’s no sound while the engine is cranking, trying to start

    What is this sound?

How would it move in the first place? (this was a running/driving car)

    What is this sound?

The converter drain plug is on the flywheel? I thought that was the flywheel. Would either of those cause the damage to be so spread out?

    What is this sound?

It's weird that the damage is not contained to a single spot.

    What is this sound?

It does look like the flexplate is hitting something. I put some sharpie on it to make sure the damage is fresh, and it is. All the bolts seem to be snug. What else is there? Also, I had to add a quart of ATF as it was low.

Oil level is good. Actually a little above the top mark,

    What is this sound?

i took off the driver side valve cover and everything looks fine. Rockers all stable, nothing weird with pushrods. Maybe I should start the engine with the covers off and see what happens...? Interesting thing about the fuel pump, I see about 4-5psi of pressure. It used to be around 7. But the...

    What is this sound?

I started the car after sitting for 3-4 weeks. It ran fine for a few minutes but then this started. The noise does go away for a few seconds intermittently but comes back. I think it's a stuck valve hitting a piston.

I'm getting a good deal on a Edelbrock Torker 383 intake manifold. Assuming I get a compatible carb too, any issues running it on a stock motor/cam?

How to replace cluster lights on a '67 Coronet?

Lights are working now. The temperature gauge wasn't working before and it is now. Clock still doesn't work, although the seconds hand moves sometimes... I just realized the speedometer now starts at 30 :/ I must've rotated it while tightening the cable? Is it easier to adjust it from the...

How to replace cluster lights on a '67 Coronet?

Since the left bulb is independent of the circuit and it works, I'm inclined to think the switch is working and it's just the circuit.

How to replace cluster lights on a '67 Coronet?

I was able to take the instrument panel cover off, and that made it easy to install the cluster back. However, just the left most bulb is working. This one is not connected directly to the cluster circuit. The central connector needs to be wiggled for the indicator and oil light to work. Even...

How to replace cluster lights on a '67 Coronet?

So, found the fusebox. It's on the driver side and can be accessed from the underside. And yes, the instrument panel fuse is blown. Found this late as I've got the cluster out of the dash. There are a few blown bulbs in there so glad I got it out. Now just trying to figure out how to put the...
