Pretty stuck on this problem. I just replaced the headlight switch and my dimmer switch is bypassed (the connector is jumped). If I fully engage the headlight switch to "on" I lose the dash and running lights. If I back off a hair from its full engagement it works. But that's not a fix...
Hi driving today I started to hear / feel an occasional click when turning and I’m seeing maybe 1mm of vertical play on the whole shaft where the pin is if I pull the steering wheel. Pic is not my column just a reference. Are my bearings going? Thoughts?
My 440 has developed a tick and I’m not 100% sure it it’s a lifter issue. When I bump the motor and check each rocker with springs relaxed I really don’t see much of a variance in slop. I do have headers and I’m wondering if I’m confusing lifter noise with an exhaust leak? How should I proceed?
My new interior door panels don't appear to have the emblem location marked. From the various pics I've seen it appears the emblem goes an inch down from the chrome strip and maybe centered on the black arm rest portion? If anyone could measure from the chrome bottom edge to the top of the...
I need to replace my lower dash pad and I want to convert to AC while I'm at it. The used market options are pretty rough. Has anyone made an aftermarket option? Seems the factory design is incredibly prone to deterioration so a metal backed fiberglass option would be ideal. Anyway found...
How does the column body ground translate up to the steering wheel? My column body has a great ground but I'm getting way too much resistance at the wheel itself to complete the circuit. Jumping the wire to the column body the horn works. In the pic I'm running 12V direct from the battery to...
Hi 440 with a Quick Fuel 750 (vacuum secondary) that is backfiring out of my secondary if I stab the throttle fast. Always visible flames, and I had one large fireball that pretty entertaining. If I rev up slow no problems. I think my secondaries are going lean. I have make a couple changes...
My 69 GTX has an old set of Hedman headers that are clearly hitting the steering box off my #3 collector. It appears to be an OEM steering box. This is my only interference I've found so far. I was contemplating temporarily solving this by jacking up the motor a bit and sticking a bar in...
I have my distributor at 20 degrees BTDC and I'm running into interference with the valve cover due to the MSD cap bolts. I can just rotate this thing to get away from that interference and move the #1 plug to a new terminal with the same relative 20 degrees BTDC correct? Just double checking...
So the 6AL died in my 1969 GTX. I did not install it - but I have no desire to replace it. My car has a 72+ harness, dual resistor, 70+ voltage regulator and alternator. Seems like the cleanest path to delete MSD is to go with the 5 pin? I'm open to trashing the whole engine harness but I...
1969 GTX. My Dimmer switch doesn't seem to work and my dash lights are fairly bright. However, when I turn the headlight switch on all the way the dash lights go out. The dash lights stay on unit the last millimeter or switch travel which is where the headlights go on. Looking at the diagram...
Just took the GTX for a short spin. She was warmed up but the 727 was extremely hesitant to shift. Started to behave better after 2-3 minutes of driving after the motor was warm. I'm wondering what others experience with the 727 after letting their cars sit for 3-4 months?
I’m not finding a vin pad at all where docs say it should be - passenger side above oil pan behind motor mount. I did check both sides. Can someone weigh in please?
Restoring my 69 GTX Steering wheel and I've sourced a few horn buttons. I'm just noticing now that the outer ring on some cars is on the outside vs. passing though the soft portion. I've see online that its mostly the GTX with the ring on the outside, but not always. Can anyone opine?
I just purchased the upper dash trim piece for my 69 GTX (right piece) but I apparently purchased the wrong part some months ago (left piece). Anyone know what it goes to? Bonus question: should they both have clips in the back?
Quick question. There is a 69 woodgrain radio bezel reproduction on Classic Industries from "Mopar Authentic Restoration product" for around $100. I also see one for $200 on AMD from "X-Parts". This is why I have trust issues because I find it hard to believe (2) different factories are out...
