A previous owner of my 73 RR clipped the vapor return line at rubber connector between the front and rear sections and removed everything in front of that. I found a vapor canister/mount and ordered new lines from SS tube. Looking at the shape I believe I am trying to route the vapor return line...
Just purchased a set of new KB107.040 360 pistons on Amazon for $101.00 with their free shipping. Don't know if it's a short term pricing mistake or not, but at that price I figured it was worth it just to have them. As of 03/09/24 it shows they have 8 more sets...
These are in great shape. The mounting studs threaded out of the fillers but the threads are in good shape and some penetrating oil could probably convince the nuts to come off the studs.
Figured I would post them here before putting them on eBay next week.
$100 for the pair plus $20 shipping...
I often wonder if this car survived. It was my first of a couple restorations I did in the late 80's and sold it in the early 90's in Denver, CO.
1971 Road Runner, 383, 4 speed, 15" Rallyes, factory hood pins, dual painted mirrors, air grabber car. I restored it totally stock other than chin...
I thought I had accumulated all the parts to reassemble the front end on my '73 Road Runner. However, it seems the strut rod bushings that are clamped in place around the rod itself are not in any of the kits and I can't seem to find them online. Any ideas?
When I tore down my 340 I noticed the cam bearings were not centered in their bores. Didn't think much about it, just thought whoever built the motor the last time was sloppy. However, when I went to install the new bearings I noticed the oiling holes in the black on #2,3 and 4 aren't nearly...
The 73 RR 340 that I purchased had about 110,000 miles on it. Seller told me that the original owner told him the engine was untouched since purchased new. It is a #matching block to the car. Well, the copper rods I posted about earlier were obviously factory, but I found the engine to have...
I've rebuilt more than a few big and small blocks and never seen copper color connecting rods. Tearing down my 1973 340 to go to the machine shop I found that #3,6 and 7 connecting rods are copper colored. The #3 and #7 rods have no markings on the machined pad while the #6 rod has what appears...
OK gang, I haven't built a motor in 30 years. And all the motors I built back then were for street/strip. I always ran Mopar Performance cams. Now I have a 1973 340 in a Road Runner I'm currently restoring and I plan on using it for cruising and possible road trips. This car won't be visiting...
Update on the 1973 Road Runner sail panels. After almost a year of searching I've got a set! Mike at Muscle Car Maniacs has the correct ones that cover the whole rear sail panel inside the car. He went through the trouble to get the first set custom made and they are fabulous.
I'm attaching a...
Hey gang, does anyone have some 340 exhaust manifold conical washers and the bolt with the stud for the heat stove they might want to sell? Last owner used flat washers and there was no heat stove when I bought my '73 RR. Hate to pay $70 for a kit from eBay when I don't need everything.
NEW...
Sail panel interior boards update. I believe I may have found the answer for the people looking for the rear sail panel interior boards. Found a new ebay auction this morning at...
I know the question has been asked many times about the sail panel boards on a '73 Road Runner. Seems the only answer is to trace the originals and cut your own out of cardboard.
However, mine were so brittle that even with being really careful the one that was partially there just disintegrated...
Looking for a rear tail light housing with the sockets and wire harness for the restoration on my 1973 Road Runner. Surprised to find that although my lenses and bezels were in excellent shape the housing and the bulb socket on one side rusted to the point the brass of the bulb is basically one...
Going through the 340 in my 1973 Road Runner brought up a silly question. I was told this motor had never been touched and by everything I found that seems true. I always thought the breather and pcv grommets were installed at the factory after the valve covers were painted. And that is how I...
Finally found the correct 6319S Thermoquad for my '73 Road Runner and now I need the A/C idle solenoid and bracket. Thanks in advance...... Here is a picture of the part that idrivemopar put up on the forum back in 2018. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/attachments/dsc04705-jpg.669263/
Anyone heard from 69bfan lately? There are lots of recommendations to contact him about belt line moldings but he hasn't responded to my message about availability for my '73 RR. Also see he was last seen here on September 7, 2021, hope everything is OK with him.
