Just touching base on this thread. Been a minute. Thanks for keeping this thread going! Sent a pm to touch base. Obviously full anonymity is key here per request.
Ha! I always go back and forth with my dad and whether or not we need to add a Wagon to the mix. Every time I bring it up he simplys says "Yeah, you can handle that, those things are ugly as all hell".
Which... he's not wrong. But I feel that one could be done tastefully.
You're probably thinking of Mike, and his best buddy Bruce. I actually posted some photos earlier in the thread of Mike with the car.
My dad got to know Mike back when I was around 14. We lived in Wisconsin and Mike was in NS. My dad has an identical 68 'Vert, but with a 440 instead of the...
After the old owner sold the car, it was returned to the OEM color - RR1 Burgundy. The pictures I posted are VERY dated... probably 40 years old at this point.
I'm sure it's sitting happily in a garage somewhere. But DAMN would it be nice to be the one to find it so I can let the old owner...
I've sifted through Mecum and BJ pages for years with no luck. There's been a few times I've seen a HEMI 68 'Vert pop up in random places and I'll think "Is that it?!?!" but, alas, it's usually a clone.
You have no idea. There's also an 82 V45 Honda Magna and an 83 V65 Magna painted the exact same color in the garage. My wife recently bought a new car and the salesman sent me a pic of a 2021 Kia Sorento in a VERY similar color. Dude had me hook, line, and sinker. I wouldn't let her buy...
Funny enough... I joined FBBO to try and help find THIS car. The previous owner of it hails from Nova Scotia and has been trying to locate the car for YEARS. Do you have any more info on it?
As proof... here's some photos of the unicorn.
Here's a few pics of the girls. About 5 years ago, I had a 1/24th scale model commissioned for my dad. Attached a few pics of that - they even recreated his keychain!. Also - a good friend of mine sent me the collage pic below - for many years, the only time I was able to drive the "baby"...
Hey all -
Happy to be here! I grew up around B-Bodies my whole life. Here's my dad's "triplets" for your entertainment. Here's a quick breakdown:
2-Door: 68 R/T - HEMI 4-spd - Bought in 2015
4-Door: 68 440 Sedan - 318, 3 on the tree
Convertible: 68 R/T - 440 4-spd - Dad bought this in...
As the title says, an old friend of my dad's used to own a true 1 of 1 68 Coronet RT Convertible. What made this car unique is that it was the only RT Convertible built with a HEMI and a 4 Speed.
Evidently this car was sold in the late 80's for a large sum around the Nova Scotia, Canada area...
