    Header gasket/leak?

Ditto on the Remflex! I had one set go more than 10 years without a leak and never once tightened them after the initial install. They probably would have gone longer but I swapped the heads out.

    Let's See Your Late B-Body

I've had my 75 Cordoba for almost 17 years now. The original owner and second owner lived across the street from each other near Tarpon Springs FL, the third owner had it for less than a year and never registered it. I bought it from him in Feb 2004 drove it almost 50 miles to get it home and...

Turn Signal Flasher with In-Line Fuse -- for LEDs maybe?

I used an off the shelf modern flasher from Advance and did not not need to wire the resistors.

Does anyone know what floor panels fit on a 1978 Magnum?

"all 71-79 B bodies, 71-74 E body, 79-81 R bodies use basically the same floor. That being the full floor from firewall seam, to rear footwell seam." Does this apply to the trunk floor as well?

    Headlight/tail issues

The bulbs may be slightly dimmer at that voltage but should work.

    Alternator question

I installed a TuffStuff a few years ago, I wouldn't recommend them: 1) I didn't want chrome but it's all they had and they didn't know when "as-cast" versions would be available. 2) The chrome started peeling after about three months. 3) The cheesy "external" regulator on-wire burned up after 6...

    Chasing Ignition Problem

ake sure you are using a low-impedance (0.8-1.2 ohms primary resistance) coil specifically for Mopar electronic ignitions. If it's an off the shelf "universal" (aka Chevy) coil it'll have too much resistance which will overheat the ignition box and shut it down. Hopefully the ignition box wasn't...

    Electronic ignition shutdown?

I had almost this exact same issue quite some time ago, make sure you are using a low-impedance (0.8-1.2 ohms primary resistance) coil specifically for Mopar electronic ignitions. If it's an off the shelf "universal" (aka Chevy) coil it'll have too much resistance which will overheat the...

Press out UCA bushing instructions? Missing from 73 FSM!

I don't remember the exact procedure (it was a long time ago) but I used a ball joint press from Autozones "loan a tool".

    1978 Dodge Monaco Windshield

The good news: Someone actually makes it. The bad news: I just called the local dealer and he says their system shows they're out of stock. However, he's placing an order with them this week and will let me know if they have an estimated stock date.

    1978 Dodge Monaco Windshield

If you manage to find a windshield let me know! I've been looking for one for almost three years now. Other that a small chip is fine but, due to what I suspect is a bad spot in the sealant, it has developed a leak (a hard enough rain and water is pouring in) and no one wants to remove a 45...

    360 crate motor

If you are using a "factory" style flexplate you need the weights but, using the weights with the flexplate above will result in an imbalance. Both Mancini Racing, who I bought my original 2200 RPM converter, and Hughes, when I upgraded to 3500 RPM, confirmed this.

    360 crate motor

Actually the flexplates, balancers and everything else on the bottom end are the same, the only real differences are the provisions for a roller cam, lack of oiling for the LA rocker shafts (these are drilled on a crate short block, I can only assume that they are for the long block too) and the...

    Remote Mirror Cable

This weekend I was looking again for someone that could rebuild my remote mirrors. The driver side works okay but, the passenger side mirror is basically covering the mounting holes in the door because it flops around making it useless. They look really good and make purchasing replacements a...

    Paint Opinion

Well, that went about the way I expected. I was actually on the fence and was was mainly thinking that I'd leave it in satin black while I did the body work, because it would be easier to match and then probably repaint it the original color once that was done. Thanks for the feedback I guess...

WTB Need a Magnum 5.9 block

Junk yards around here are full of them, they were also available in some full size cars.

    360 crate motor

I've been using an "LA" balancer on my Magnum based 360 for almost 15-years with no problems. I've used that exact flexplate for just as long. First thing I suggest checking is the converter, if it doesn't have any balance weights, most aftermarket units don't, this flexplate is the way to go.

    Paint Opinion

I know I could have put this in the paint/bodywork section but I wanted feedback primarily from people with eth same body style. First a little back story: I had the Cordoba painted about 12 yeas ago, initially the car looked great but the problems (peeling, bubbling, etc) started after just a...
