One thing to consider is the leg room issue. My wife and I are the same height, but I'm long waisted and short legged and she's short waisted and long legged. When I set the bench seat to where I'm comfortable, she has no leg room. Also, most of my friends are taller (many much taller) than I am...
I definitely don't need another car. Just in the last few months, I've bought a Superbird, a 71 Barracuda and now a 70 Barracuda.
I keep thinking about selling my Superbird clone project but no one has any money and I don't want to give it away. The parts are just too nice.
I've been working...
I don't have any fresh pics of the daytona or the bird, but here's one of the car that I bought last week. It's a 71 barracuda, sassy grass green car, buckets and auto on the column. It's set up for bracket racing. I've been trying to buy this car for many years. I plan to have a lot of fun with...
The Enkei rims are no longer on the car. For now, it has the 17" Centerline Billets. I know where the Enkei's are and would love to have them just because of the history. The Centerlines may or may not stay on the car. I have a set of the correct rallyes on one of my roadrunners that I could put...
Actually the hood on the Black Ice car is a 70 Roadrunner air grabber hood that has been narrowed and had the Superbird extension added to it. He stiffened it so it's a little on the heavy side but looks and works great.
I love waffles but I can't eat them. I'm diabetic. You probably won't see my Superbird sitting in the Waffle House parking lot. Unless Stuart invites me when we're in Branson. Then I'll make an exception. :)
Stuart, Almost forgot. Check out my old 87 Dodge truck in the background of one of the pics. I loaned my new Dodge crewcab to my son to drive to Houston so I had to dig this truck out of storage to meet the car hauler to load up the extra Superbird hood.
The truck has a fresh 440 with MSD...
Stuart, this car is so nice that all I plan to do is put it in the booth and re-shoot it. There's not a whole lot that has to be done. Thank goodness.
It will definitely be ready for the big wingcar gathering in June.
I've got the original wing for this car in the trunk and another original Superbird wing that I bought a year ago or so. I also have a reproduction wing that I've put on my 69 runner.
The car came with all of the original parts. Tom had disassembled it to restore it when I stepped in and bought...
Well, the Superbird was delivered this morning from Alaska. I absolutely love this car.
Tom kept preparing me for the car not being perfect. Well, he's wrong...in my eyes it is perfect. It has just enough roughness around the edges to make it a true driver in my eyes. I had been thinking all...
The Daytona clone project had to go. It's being replaced by the Black Ice Superbird as we speak.
I'm finishing up the clone before the new owner comes to get it so I'll try to remember to post a few pics.
I've owned many many roadrunners in my life (three at the present time), but the Superbirds are the cars that seem to always attract all of the attention. This car should get more attention than my Challenger convert hemi clone. I like driving cars that everyone goes crazy over.
Deposit has been sent. Shipping arrangements are being made.
It's the infamous "Black Ice" bird. I'm going to just freshen it up and leave it as it has been for the last 26 years and have fun with it. It's a 440 (now has a six pack setup on it),4-speed, bucket seat, console car.
The...
