I've had issues with the ɓack of the passenger valve cover leaking pretty good no matter what I used. It's on a 1965 model 413. Is there a trick to getting these valve covers to not leak? The edge of the cylinder head is really narrow and porous, which I find odd. Why wouldn't it be machined...

I'm working on putting my 413 back together and wondered what you folks use for thread sealer on the intake and exhaust bolts. I have some Permatex thread sealant, #80623, I use on water passage fittings but I do know if it will be sufficient for the intake and exhaust hardware.
