    Rebuild newer Mopar alternators?

Odd ball patch pieces? You are going to have to be desperate to want something off of this car. It is the worse I have ever seen a car get? It is a real shame. There is absolutely no frame under the floor pans. It is 100% gone. Search my other posts. I think I put a lot of pics with a short...

    Rebuild newer Mopar alternators?

Ironically, I was getting ready to tow a 70 RR to the scrapyard, and my alternator is not charging on my 2014 Durango. I recharged the battery, and the alternator still it did not charge. Anyway, somebody told me I could not rebuild a newer alternator. Can anybody verify this? Parts stores...

    Pulling the pedals

I cannot really compare the diagrams well enough to determine if the pedal cages are the same. Here is the link to a great thread and where I found the suggestion. As for swapping just the pedal in the existing cage, I am not even sure I would want to do it. But I also did not even consider it...

    Pulling the pedals

Oops. I forgot which forum I was reading when I went to bed last night. I guess this does not really qualify as being funny. Sorry!!!

    Pulling the pedals

i just read, on a Charger forum, where someone seemed to be saying that you do not have to exchange the whole pedal setup when changing to a four speed. It sounded like the pedal brackets were the same, and you could just use the longer bolts to put the pedals in the car. If so, has anyone done...

This makes me sick to my stomach.

Sorry, just reread the post and saw the remark about "not a factory option". My bad. but just curious, don't you have to go way back to find cars that do not have the air-conditioning option?

This makes me sick to my stomach.

I am not sure why someone would take offense to air conditioning on a non-ac car. Just curious, would it be the same if you took the AC system off if it was so desired? And how about the 4 speed I am throwing in my original automatic car?

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

Woo hoo!!! The pedals are out. I wish I would have started with plan b. I grinded off the top of the master cylinder stud, and that took 5 minutes. Then I tapped the bolt out in about 10 seconds. I wish I would have done this with all six. LOL!!!

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

It is rusted bad. There was no frame under the floorboard. I am not saying it was bad, I am saying it was gone--completely gone. It is now stripped. I was getting well seated on the nut. It was just the angle. I was not expecting to be able to put that much force and still strip it out that...

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

Here is a pic. It is toward the top in the shadow.

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

Down to one nut that is connected to the master cylinder. It is not going to come out with the tools I have. I have put penetrating oil on it for 24 hours, heated it up and still, it would not spin without my socket giving way. Then I banged the socket it on with a hammer, to make it seat all...

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

Man, I am really hating this right now. I need to use deep wells to get to the nuts, and they are too long to get in there. I was considering grinding the heads from inside the engine bay, but I do not even know if that would help. What I need are slightly longer regular sockets. And now That I...

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

The seats and steering wheel are out. I am just having trouble getting to all of the 1/2 nuts.

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

That is good news. Have you done this, and if so, do you have some helpful hints?

Pulling 4 speed pedals from a 69 RR

Oh boy. I thought this was gonna take about an hour and maybe five or six nuts or bolts, but Ma Mopar really wanted to make sure these things did not fall off. Can anyone give me some good news, but it looks like I might have to pull the entire dash just to get to all of the nuts holding on the...

Pulling engine and 4 speed finally!!!

Me again. I downloaded the service manual, and it I cannot open it without a computer. I only have an iPad at the house. Anyway, what is the last step in loosening the steering column for removal? I thought there was a pin on the steering shaft close to the steering box, but I cannot find it...

Pulling engine and 4 speed finally!!!

That is good news, except now I am to a point someone else raised. And I bet this is the small problem but biggest headache of the whole swapping project. What is the best way to get rid of the auto shifter stuff still on the column? My bet is I can take of the arm but have to leave the rest. I...

Pulling engine and 4 speed finally!!!

So, just leave the original steering wheel? I am hoping that is the suggestion.

Pulling engine and 4 speed finally!!!

I kinda suspected exactly what you said, so I had the chance to take a look at my auto trans car. I did not see this bracket. So, I am wondering if there is a difference between the 69 and 70. I will be looking into it. Does FSM stand for floor shift model? And I am going to have to go to...
