I am trying to reassemble the front end of my 66 satellite and finding lots of bolt holes are not lined up. I'm now suspicious that it may have had a front end collision and was not properly fixed before being painted. Can someone here help with some pictures of the upper and lower grille...
Looking for some advice on tuning my new rebuild. Let me start by saying that this is my first engine build so I don't have a lot of experience to lean on. I've been reading and watching plenty of video's on carb and timing set up, but still a bit unclear on which to adjust and in what order...
I'm in the middle of fixing the partially burned wire harness in my 1966 satellite. This connector is causing me some confusion. The violet w/tracer coming from the console harness has a second short wire and terminal, anybody know where this connects. I have the fsm but don't see the console...
As the title said, for the purpose of breaking in a new engine without spinning the pump in the trans, will a 130 tooth 10.5 inch flywheel fit/work for this?
1966 Satellite, new aftermarket spectra tank and sending unit. How far should the pick up be from the bottom of the tank? It seems a bit high off of the floor of the tank, maybe 3/4 inch or so at the closest. Also should the float contact the floor when totally empty, because this one sits...
I'm getting the fuel system cleaned up on my satellite before dropping the new engine in, and thinking about plumbing a return/vapor line to prevent vapor lock. My current thought is to weld a 1/8 ntp bung into the upper front portion of the tank and plum the line in there.
Has anyone here...
I'm finishing up my 440 build and am trying to get all the front accessories figured out before the engine goes in, and I'm running into a bit of a headache with the power steering. I know I could just go drop $300-$400 at 440 source and get everything I need to swap to a Saginaw set up, but...
I need a new boot for my '66 Satellite, it's oval and has 6 screws, all the boots I can find are round with 3 screws and are listed as '66-'74 A and B. Even Year One has the round boot listed for '66. Is the round boot correct? If so does anyone know what the oval boot would be off of? I...
Does anyone know of a source for this connector? I'm going through my dash harness and fixing some issues, I'd like to replace with the same connector rather than individual connectors if possible. I believe it is for the wiper motor switch.
Can anyone help identify these parts? Years later I'm still sorting through boxes of parts from a rolling shell that I bought thinking it would be a quick and easy project.
They are possibly off of a 66 satellite or 68 new yorker engine.
Bought a 66 satellite rolling shell years ago and been slowly putting it back together, tried to mock up a new radiator today and I think my core support is out of whack. Having trouble finding good pictures to confirm, but I'm guessing it's supposed to be flat, and the lower support should be...
Tried to mock up my new ecp 22" radiator today and found that the mounting holes on my core support (66 satellite) are different from the radiator. My satellite has 4 holes 24.5 in apart horizontal and 14.5" vertical. The radiator is correct in the horizontal, but the passenger side flange is...
I need to find all of the Console linkage between the shifter and trans for my 1966 Satellite. I've found several listings for 67-70, and one eBay listing for 66 only, and still other listings for 66-70... yet in pictures it all looks the same. Is the linkage for 1966 unique? If not will all...
I got my block back from the machine shop this week and after getting it on the stand and looking it over I noticed a couple of the cam bearing oil holes aren't fully lined up with the oil holes. Specifically the #4 and #5 (worst) are a bit off, this is my first time rebuilding an engine, I'm...
I've come here for some help and guidance. I have a '66 Satellite that I have been slowly working on for about the last 10 years, I bought it as a rolling shell and the seller included a '68 440 and a '71 727. The engine looks like it was marked from a junk yard as it has "1968 New Yorker"...
I bought a replacement master from napa and its a little different. The replacement has a brass plug blocking a second opening on the underside of the master. As you can see in the picture the original only had the one opening and a solid bottom.
I know in '67 they switched to the safer...
I've been working to finish all metal and body work on my '66 Satellite, and i figured now might be a good time to look at this issue. I plan on putting a mildly built 440 into the car, and i've been considering installing subframe connecters due to the HP/TQ of the big block, so i have a...
Hi guys, new here. The project is a '66 Sat HT, with a '68 440. The car currently has power steering, i am thinking about swaping to manual steering. Its going to be a driver, so i guess im looking for opinions here as to the drivability of that combo. Does anyone drive a bigblock car w/...
