The white stuff is some kind of spray coating the previous owner was applying to the walls of his shop.

As per the title and I did do a Forum search. I only found 2 threads, so I must be doing something wrong.
Moderate acceleration, a long 2-3 shift overlap. Definitely feel the car slow some, engine rpm reduced (exhaust note). I say it lasts about 2 full seconds.
Which isn't quick as some...
Yeh. First noticed a problem when my radio started leaking oil.
Have an OEM electrical (thermal) gauge, now, and is not range marked numerically. I just look for a consistent indication. I did initially verify it's indication with a temporary mechanical test gauge Tee'd in at the engine block.
Fine metal particles on a fresh rebuild is normal, in small amounts. Use a magnet to collect it. If you have a big fuzzy pile, that could indicate abnormal wear.
Since you have decreasing metal particles with each consecutive inspection, I would say that everything is normal with that engine.
Came across something similar with RockAuto. Was going to buy an air filter for a 340. $2.59. Name brand,(fairly sure it wasn't fram). Went to checkout and it was $14.59 shipping. I bought it from my local Advance. Paid $6 and change.
As far as aircraft engines wearing valve guides, cylinder wear ,etc. That all depends on how you operate the engine.
The company I work for had 5 Beech Barons, twin engine, IO-520 engines. I saw that fleet go to TBO 3 separate times. That's 30 engines with a cumulative 51,000 operating hours...
There are solid state electronic ones available on Ebay. Also, online. Can't remember the name. RTT or something. Anyway, if you do an internet search with the part number of your Limiter. 1V3 or whatevery, you will get the right result. They aren't cheap. About $45.00 but, they do have...
My understanding is that there is nothing wrong with the fuel. It is in an above ground tank. The tank is being replaced and the manager does not or cannot transfer it to the new tank.
I live 300 miles from Jackson Co. airport. Another 1000 miles to MA? $$$$
If I had a towable fuel tank, I'd...
Jackson County, North Carolina
Here's the story just told to me. The manager at the airport in Jackson County , NC has to dispose of 1500 gallons of 100LL avgas. I don't think he can pump directly into a vehicle. (road taxes). Selling for $2.50 a gallon.
How did you acquire the car? Bill of sale?
Any documentation should help your case.
I have not used any title service company, but have gotten a title for a car purchased from a private collection of derelicts. Not going to try that again. I will say that NC is really weird when it comes to car...
Hello, B body owners.
I have a favor to ask. I'm building (more like correcting) a scale model of a Superbird. Would you measure a few things on your Satellite, GTX, RR, ..?
*Door length (along the bottom edge)
*Rear edge of door to rear wheel arch opening(along the rocker line)
*Front edge of...
Thanks for the tip about metal valve stems.
Always had valve stems replaced with the tires.
Never had a valve stem problem 40 years or so.
Recently, got a slow leak in a tire not quite 2 years old. Bad valve stem.
Either this forum or FABO, someone started a thread that Chinese parts were...
One vehicle has original cast iron manifolds. Engine swapped. Reattached exhaust manifolds, no gasket. Seals just fine.
Other vehicle has headers. Place a 1/16" diameter bead of high temp. RTV on the header around each exhaust port. Let it cure. Attached header, no leaks.
Years ago, had a SBM...
