I just put a 499 in my Satellite. I used my old shortblock and new heads. The engine runs fine. But driving at low speed or costing slowly I get a terrible bucking. Now I used my old cam which is a 247/255 solid. And it's a 4 speed with 3.23's. Carb is a 950HP. Now is my tune off? Or...
I know its been asked before. But does 10.3 to 1 with closed chamber, flat tops, with a moderate cam size 247/255 110 constitute living on pump 93. Not a race car at all. B body with 3.xx gears and a 4 speed. Now its a 499, not a 440.
This may be dumb, but is the an outside difference between the 240 and 270 heads? I mean like the victors, -1's, stage VI,s...etc. Can 270's replace 240's with no other change (like intake port height on victors)
Say I have a bone stock 66 440 (516 heads). One valve is bad on the 516's. Have a set of 906's that are fine shape. Is anything gained or lost by tossing on the 906's? Other than the comp drop, which is how much?
Looking to trade my 489 case 3.91 suregrip for a 3.55 suregrip unit. The 3.91's have new Motive gears and new bearings. Cone type sure grip. Large yoke. Works just fine.
