    QA1 suspension

Again, all suspension components have been upgraded (including parts mentioned above) with adjusting whenever I thought it would help. Changing the style of suspension might do exactly what I'm looking for, ultimately there's only one way to find out for myself and the overwhelming majority of...

    QA1 suspension

Right now with a 2" drop in the font with Hotchkis leaf sprigs which lowered the rear 1"-1.5", I still have a tenancy to bottom out on certain roads even with Hotchkis Fox adjustable shocks on the stiffest setting. I destroyed my MSD coil when I hit the road surface hard enough on a dip early...

    QA1 suspension

"Old" thread, but still relevant, at least to me. I've taken a T-Bar / Leaf Sprint setup as far as I can go. While it's far better than "stock", I'm looking for more on the road. After speaking with Art Morrison on what they offer for Mopars, as nice as their products are it's a LOT more than...

What did you do to your Mopar today?

After working on my interior every day all last week, spent a couple of hours and finally finished today. Long overdue, after installing the TKX 5-Speed & Sniper EFI Q1-2 2023 it'll be nice to have a clean interior with all insulation in place. Happy New Year!

Why no Plymouth version of the Charger?

I fully understand that the gtx and rr are trim levels of the Belvedere, that was never lost on me. I've owned two rr's and a Belvedere II. WhIle the Super Bee may be dodges 'equilivent" to the rr /gtx, it was an afterthought mid year in 1968, larger and heavier, didn't last nearly as long and...

Why no Plymouth version of the Charger?

Then it could be argued that the Belvedere is the Plymouth equivalent to Charger, given all the trim levels available. Much like a mustang, you could get a "grocery getter" or a street beast in the same body style. A road runner was muscle all day long and this isn't a slant six forum.

Why no Plymouth version of the Charger?

Out of what could be considered the most desirable years for a B-body, the only mopar that won car of the year was a road runner. You could get a 225 in a charger. Not in a road runner. I never thought Plymouth needed a version of a charger.

Do you like to drive late at night? How about in the rain?

There are other routes that I've been looking at heading north towards the desert, and also east as far out as Wrightwood, then south through the hills and forested areas. Something I plan on doing next year. Going out at those hours can be somewhat trepidatious, should something fail I'm...

Do you like to drive late at night? How about in the rain?

Back in March, one of the canyons in Malibu around 6:30 am on my way back home. Vertical yes, but in this image you get to see the windy road, canyon and clouds... January 2021, 5 am near Rio Carrillo beach on P.C.H. July 2020, Arriving home around 7(ish) am after a longer drive. June...

Do you like to drive late at night? How about in the rain?

I feel the pole and wires in the background give some depth. What the photo doesn't show is the very bright moon that night, but can be seen reflecting on the ocean behind.

Do you like to drive late at night? How about in the rain?

I usually drive anywhere between 11pm - 6 am when I plan on going for a longer drive. This could be from 1 - 3 hours covering up to 100 miles. Been doing this for the past few years. No traffic at all and nobody trying to race me in one form or another. Just me, the car and the road... 3 am...

Where did you and your car go today

Early morning drive through the canyons in Malibu, then stopped by Woodley Park for day 2.

3.23 or 3.55, this is the question

High compression 383 now with a TKX close ratio 5-speed, 3.23 auburn sure grip 8.75" with 28" tall rear tires. 2100 RPM at 80 mph. I had 3.55's a couple of years ago with a rebuilt 727 and a 2800 stall converter before the 5-speed and it was ok but definitely gave a lot more noise all around...

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Did the P.C.H. run, left just before 5 am and got home just before 7 and only bottomed out once...not a habit I'm fond of and try not to repeat. E.F.I. going in later this month.

What did you do to your Mopar today?

Recently finished a TKX 5 Speed install with new DD gauges, tilt steering column and steering wheel. Most of these part were ordered over a year ago, it took that long for the back-ordered transmission to eventually ship. Washed up and ready to drive. Been a long time coming and worth the...

Steering upgrades....some ideas that I'm kicking around.

I've been using the Borgeson unit for a couple of years now and could not be happier. I just finished up the TKX 5 speed install, with a Flaming river tilt column and a 14" diameter steering wheel it handles great. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fla-fr21025pbk...

Steering upgrades....some ideas that I'm kicking around.

If road noise is the biggest complaint (with no mechanical complaints) have you considered adding any type of sound deadening material to the interior? I've done everything you have for the most part (+/-) with bare floors and no headliner, so it's loud. I'm sending my car in for some interior...

    Recommendations?

Double or triple your budget and you can probably get there and add more later. Find a good shop to completely machine the block, check the rods and crank which can all be reused if they pass. A good set of pistons once you decide on heads. Stock will give you everything you'll want or need...

    Performace Shocks - Twin Tube

Curious if anyone is running a twin tube performance shock, something like the QA1 stocker or the Koni classic, and how you like them. I'm currently running the Hotchkis / Fox adjustable shocks, which can be harsh at times despite doing well on the street and canyon runs. I have suspension...

Front and rear suspension upgrades GTS

The Hotchkis setup works really well, I have their components (along with others) on my car and enjoy it a lot, doesn't cost nearly as much as the Gerst setup. Though I'm sure Gerst would be great to have and might be a possibility for me in the future. How much money do you want to spend...
