don't use any sealer on that gasket, if look close it has rubber lines running around it, just make sure the trans and pan surfaces are clean and straight. that gasket is reuseble, if its the dealer item. have one in my 65 with a pan off a newer 47re with the filter drop adapter from A&A works...
I have one you can have if you want, but its the right side, I have the left one but I am pretty sure I bent it alittle when I was switching the wheel studs from left handed thread to right handed. the hubs should be the same. If you what both of them you can have them, the races and areas are...
I would think you should get better than 13.5, I get 15-16 mpg with my 06 1500 4x4 w/mds, alittle less in the winter. my dad gets 19 mpg with his 05 4x4 1500 no mds though, he has the base wheels and tires, and I have the 20's. your car being lighter should be easier to get moving, you would...
Like Cranky said, I would suspect the calipers have a rust build up, a bunch of crud from all them years (flushing the system usually doesn't get that out), or even the seal that seal the pistons to the cailper bore are hard. The AN body Dakotas had this problem, and happens alot on other cars...
I would set you up with a guy in Big Bend where I got mine from, but the last time I went through there his building was gone, and a car lot in its place. He had an old service station full of wheels, stacked floor to ceiling, just about every classic wheel you could want, I bought two 5 inch...
Just got the connectors on tuesday, I have to get the seats and carpet out, and clean up the floor pan and the regulator on my welder took a dump. Moose the four link looks good, but alittle much for me right now.
just ordered my frame connectors, just wondering what I should coat the insides of them with. looks like in some of their photos they used por15. I figured on a weld through primer on the areas were I am welding, maybe epoxy primer on the rest?
thanks for the replies, and photos, I think with my birthday right around the corner I am going to call us tool, those connectors look really nice, I have been thinking about the 2x2 tube, but the cut ones look so nice. zyzzyx are you going to weld along the whole length of the floor pan?
I'm wondering what guys are using for subframe connectors? I like the us tool ones in the other post, but could I get away with making some out of rectangluar tubing like 2 inch by 2 1/2 inch 1/8 wall. would they strong enough? just some thoughts, they are going on a 65 coronet.
That almost looks like someone ordered it, hacked it up, and sent it back. I replaced the driver side in my 65 coronet 9yrs ago with a Sherman peice and it went pretty well, don't know how they are now. Everyone talks up AMD and their stuff looks really good. I would send those turds back.
Thanks, I ordered a manual box awhile ago, going to put it in and see how it steers, then the upper arms. hopefully the extra caster with the manual box won't make it too hard to steer at slower speeds, my wife does drive it once in awhile. I want a firmer feel, and stabilty.
