Fenders are easy. Coronet! Takes about a hour a piece to modify with the scoop mounts drilled.
The hood.... Thank god I didn't have to tackle that one. If I was cloning, FG would have to do for me.
Check www.slantsix.org or www.forabodiesonly.com
If it just started knocking, the leaning tower of power should be good for a couple more years. :headbang:
I never install new hinges with the fender on. At a minimum take the inner shield out. Remove the striker. Get a friend to help you.
Next trick is keep everything slightly loose (must install all the bolts before you tighten cause sometimes one will be off) and fit the door. Get the gaps...
I just can't wrap my mind around what in the world they were thinking with the window track assembly. I got it all apart but the retainers holding the glass to the tracks were all rusted tight and spinning. "Normal People" would have made it so all 4 of those screws were accessible at the same...
Who was the engineer who did the doors on these B-bodies???
I have never had such difficulties tearing down a door in the 20 years of doing bodywork (10 years of restorations).
Anyone have a copy of the shop manual to show the proper re-assembly procedure? Cause I know there has to be...
A 727 will. But the owner wants a 5 speed auto.
Been talking to Hot Wire Auto. I need to make a call to Chris to discuss it further. They have already said they will help with the engine/trans and the factory harness/computers, but they will not get into the accessories.
I am really...
I have no idea. My plans were to finish it when the shop was slow. 7 years later....
PM me with an offer if you want to tackle it. The owner of the 'bird chose to buy a repo steel one to save time. At 5K each, I would think you could spend some time fixing it if you have the skills.
I actually have a real, beat-up nose cone. No headlamps or grills, just the sheet metal.
It's not pretty, just if you want to spend the time metal finishing it....
A 2006 300C.
Yeah, I am under that impression too. The owner really jumped the gun on finding this engine and trans. Didn't think all the options through. I just said I would make it fit, his mechanic friend is the one who said it would be easy :angryfire:
He already paid for the...
Still trying to find the proper wiring schematics for this engine harness. I really don't know what I have at this point.
Still working on rust repair.
Tore the dash down this afternoon. The pad is going to Just Dashes.
The Cluster...... Oh my. It dawns on me.
The 5 speed...
I am looking for un-molested Rt. and Lft. Fenders (no previous body work) and and a Trunk lid for a '71 Charger Superbee.
The ones on the car have been hacked and filled with a gallon of bondo. They have to go. Rust free preferred, but I have no problem with making a patch for the fenders...
Updates.
I haven't been able to devote 100% to this project because I had to finish up a '69 Dart GTS 440. We have it media blasted and in primer. Locating a few more parts (like fenders and a trunk lid, hint, hint... anyone got some?).
The owner stopped by yesterday and asked one more...
