I broke down and bought a new NAPA jack a few years back and about 6 months after I got it if you raised all the way it would stay but if you left it just part of the way up it would go down. Went and talked to them and it had been out of warranty about 10 days Told me good Luck with it
I know the air grabber on my 70 model just uses the regular springs, they wouldn't cut the springs on them because they are heavier than a regular hood. Maybe some one on here will have a set they will sell you. Good Luck with it. Ronnie in Okla.
They all have the round ones, get some of the heavy duty ones. One goes on each side of the steering collumn if you reach up and find them them in the bottom rail of the dash
You started witha good one , like the 70 the best. I've had mine going for about 5 years and have really enjoyed it. I just used all Moog parts on mine from NAPA just like my Swinger back 16 years ago and it has all been good. Good Luck on your car

You can get an original gas throttle cable from Summit Racing, about 20 bucks and you'll need the one that is 19 inches long. Any of the dealers will get you for 60-80 dollars on the cable. Good luck on getting it running again
Sorry about your mess but i have to ask why you sent them to Calif. when there is so many chrome places around DFW, I'm in Okla. and I've got got all mine done in Dallas are Terell and have had no problems with any of it.
There should be 2 vent tubes in it, the one that runs up in the trunk and a smaller one that mounts on the under side on the frame. sounds like some thing is stopped up and after shaking it up it pressures it out the vent. Goog Luck hope you find it
How long is your dip stick on a stock 383? It is suppose to be original but I don't know. It would help me if some one could measure one from where it sits on the tube to the end. Thanks
