If your going to go with an older 3 spd I would put more thought into the 727 then the 904 just because it's a stronger unit. but yes they will fit together
I may of figured out how to setup my dart with front wheel sensors. Hopefully my buddy will be around long enough for me to borrow his lathe and try something out. I will be trying some testing in the coming weeks
Gonna yank the headrests off the charger seats I got and get them recovered like a set of a 67 dart buckets. and the other set I have is going in my 63. I've looked into shipping seats before and for what they're worth you should be able to find a set for cheaper then it would be for me to ship...
The LX computer is hard to use because of the fact it uses the NAG1 transmission which requires wheel sensors. The Computer may be able to be sent to Hotwireauto and have the transmission portion eliminated but you'd need to talk to them to see on that for sure.
I however will be attempting a...
a big selling point on this swap to me is the efi. The fact I in Canada can put a car starter on my car and in the cold weather will be able to push a button and start my swapped cars(67 dart is getting a 3.5 V6 out of a charger, 63 belvedere is getting a 5.7 out of a charger, and my 81 crew cab...
Put the 400 drivetrain up for sale after your all done the swap and I bet you can get your money back. Like we said get everything you can, wiring, steering column, dash, shifter, gas tank, fuel pump, drivetrain, brake assembly, gas pedal assembly(drive by wire) brake booster and master, every...
It's not a weekend swap, the rear cradle has to be modified to ether bolt in or weld in. I'm cutting 2" out of each side of my cradle for my 67 dart. the 74 might just be a simple swap in once you make some bracketry to make it bolt up or weld it in. It'll be a workout. but the results will be...
in my case I'm going to need a new axle anyways. I can buy a 8 1/4 diff out of a 2008 Dodge Dakota(should just need the bolt pattern redrilled) for 850 bucks with low miles from a salvage yard. dakota digital sells adjustable pulse converters.
The biggest thing I'm trying to figure out is how my speed sensors would react and I believe it would mostly come down to tuning the speed sensor pulses. It's actually a pretty simple system you just have to get the transmission to see the right pulses. Looking at factory charger irs systems...
that is true but in a street driver that isn't going to see much track time That diff should be more then strong enough. speed sensors already being installed is just a plus.
Do you know what one would have to do to make the factory tcm work in our classics? I'm going to try and install NAG1's into both my cars. Biggest concern is it would be really great if i could just run one wheel sensor signal to the tcm(such as a wheel sensor off a newer rear axle like the 8.25...
Thats my point. As engine builders the pros can make motors almost indestructible but we're looking at motors produced in the hundreds/thousands. mistakes happen.
