Not the first time for this problem, I'm sure!

Just a quick back story first. My Bee did not have an engine when I bought it 20 or more years ago. I had a 440 block and crank to start with in my shed. I had to completely build from a grocery list all the way down to nuts and bolts. I had a PS pump in a box of parts but even after buying...

Which way is right....or does it matter?

I know this is probably one of those " are you serious?" type of questions but I've forgotten which way it goes! I took my driveshaft out years ago and am now restoring it with new u joints. I forgot which end of the driveshaft gets the slip yolk for the rear of the trans! Does the fat end or...

    8.75 pinion snubber fitment???

Hey folks...I have read about as much as my old eyes can take but I don't see a clear cut answer to the question: What makes a pinion snubber specific? Is it the rear chunk application? (741/742/489) Is it the body style? (A/B/E) Are we to assume ALL 8.75 snubbers have the same bolt pattern...

Windage tray OR oil pan baffles?

I am so amazed at the willingness of our members to answer questions! I know I'm grateful for the help and I do have a question on this topic....does a baffled afternarket oil pan negate the need to use a windage tray? I know my BB came with one but the need to get an aftermarket pan due to the...

Is machining my 440 with NON-original main caps cost prohibitive????

Time has arrived to start my 440 build. It's going to be a street only car. 70 B body with 833 and 8.75 w/3.91. I have a couple of 440 blocks to work with but neither have their original main caps. I know I can get used OEMs or aftermarket billets but from you guys with machinist experience...

    Recommendations???

Hello everyone on a Saturday! I'm moving forward on my engine build and have a 74 440 block to get checked and machined. Once I know the finished bore, I can order my stroker kit. The question is.....does anyone living here in Florida have a solid recommendation for machine shop in central part...

WTB 1968-1970 wiper pivots w/ or w/o wiper arms.

I have a 1970 Bee that needs pivots. Can't be loose or damaged splines. ( I already have that problem!) A nice useable set that just needs cleaning and greasing AND isn't going to cost me my 401K.

Is my 69 Hurst shifter mech useable in a 70?

Happy Superbowl Sunday! Gents and ladies.....I unpacked some old parts to recondition and I have what appears to be a 1969 b Body shifter (by virtue of the levers attached) that is supposed to go into a 70 Superbee. Is this possible? The mechanism does have the slot for the pistol grip shifter...

1970 Bee - 20 yrs since disassembly, now restore!

Yep, it's true. I bought my bee 22 yrs ago and it needed restoring back then. I took it apart and of course, life events put a big hold on everything until now. Being retired, helps alot!! In the last year and half I did new front floors, trunk with extensions, both rear quarter skins and the...

    New fuel tank and pad

I have a brand new assembly and bought the foam insulation pad. I must dumber than a box of rocks because the rectangular shape of my 70 b body tank allows for the pad to fit either way. I know the notches cutout are there for a reason but does anyone have a pic to show the correct orientation...

FOR SALE 8 3/4 rear Disc Brake conversion kit

I have for sale a brand new, basic conversion kit, to convert drum to disc for 8.75 rears. My understanding is that since my application was the 1968-1970 models, it MIGHT fit others. It comes with both discs, both calipers, both sets of mounting brackets and hardware, both flex hoses in...

    Recommendations?

Readers, I've been reading off and on for a long time now. I have had a 70 Bee in my garage for 20 years, disassembled and a sitting shell, waiting for me to do the rust repair. I'm nearly done with the sheetmetal work now (thanks to retirement!) and I have a couple of questions regarding engine...
