I made a pattern from the cardboard box the dash came in. I did not think it would work at first because there was so much to cut. I let a little extra when I eventually cut the aluminum from the pattern. It was the point of no return. Then I used tape to hold it in position while I made the...
I have an aluminum dash, does the brand name of the gauges matter? I notice some gauges are crazy expensive. I was looking at the speedometer and tachometer gauges primarily. I already have temperature, and oil pressure gauges. Are there any other must have gauges?
The original dash may not be that heavy, but the heater box and all of duct boxes, adds up. I have mine out right now as I am installing a cage. I want the minimal weight, and the minimal look. No dash pad, just the gauges. The dash side pieces cost just as much as the aluminum dash. I will get...
Does anyone know if the aluminum dash from Jegs will fit my 70 Roadrunner. My concern is the curve, if it us close or should I just fabricate my own? If anyone has pictures, I would love to see what yours looks like?
What are you using for race application seats? Are aluminum the way to go or the fiberglass? Anyone have pictures of how you are securing them to the floor? Is the 5 point SFI seat belt standard? Any particular brand better, or are they all basically the same?
At low speeds 40mph or less it works well, but it is not as efficient at high speeds. It is no where close to a modern car. I am going to bleed the brakes again after going to the track today, to see if that makes a difference.
Hoorah!!! I can stop now! What a relief. I used the same MC, Booster, vacuum pump and canister. Just added the Dr. Diff brake kit and disc to drum proportioning valve. I can stop now! Thanks for all of the advice and technical assistance. I could not have achieved this success without you! I am...
After church today I bench bled the MC then after installing it, one of the new brake lines was leaking. I had to go back and make another one. I then bled each brake starting with the wheel furthest from the MC. I had to keep refilling the MC and it took forever. I will test it in the morning.
Ok I took the advice of Cass and purchased their brake kit with the new disc/ drum proportioning valve. I got the kit installed Friday, I plumbed new lines yesterday. I stripped the old ones when trying to get them out. Today I will bench bleed the master cylinder, reinstall it and test it today...

This is much more complicated than I ever thought or knew. My education is costing me time and money. My booster is a dual diaphragm aftermarket new style. The canister is being used because it stores vacuum so there is ample reserve in the event the brakes have to be used multiple times in...
The booster is not connected to the engine because the engine is 13.5:1 compression ratio and makes no vacuum. It is only tied to the external vacuum pump and canister. Forgive my ignorance, but where is the check valve that I may remove it to see if that is the problem. The proportioning block...
I have the SSBC front disc brake system. It has four pistons. 10.25” rotors, 1” MC and bendix style booster. I have a separate vacuum pump and separate vacuum canister. Drum rear brakes. I stand on the brakes and it barely stops. It is a hard pedal that does not move! I don’t mind changing up...
There is so much conflicting information. Do I just go with Cass and buy his brake system he wants me to purchase, as he is the expert? Is his system guaranteed to work for my RR. If it works, I will be glad to pay the price. I don’t want to waste my money on something that will lot work! Is...
He told me that I need to buy his stage two front brake kit. He said it has a larger fluid capacity, and a larger rotor at 11.75”. I need to ask him if it is a two or four piston caliper, and what if any difference that makes. He has not answered my question as to whether I still need my power...
