Thanks moparcrazy; as it turns out I do have a real nice torque converter in the car its a dynamics combination steet/strip and works fantastic compaired to the TCI 3000 I had in it. Yes I know what you mean the cables are not cheap. Guess I will have to deal with the stock arangement for now. Thanks
1964 sport fury NH craigs list 383 4 speed bucket seats red white top work in progress someone needs to buy this now check it out! I really like these cars I also like mine pretty well 65 plymouth.
Can one of these shifters be used on the 727 original chrystler 64,65 BB cable shift tranny or do you have to install later version 66 and up. Whats the advantage of this swap from stock shifter.
Hemirunner could be a combination of the two, sounds like rockers at lower rpm's then at about 2 thousand rpm's and higher sounds deeper to me. Last time I talked to the machine shop the motor should be together and running again this week so we will see what they figuired out for a fix. My...
Thanks everyone for all your ideas and recomendations. I will be back home in a few weeks and the motor should be back together and in the car. I have MP valve covers on the motor so not stock but, I can check the inside that's easy enough if the noise continues. I post the results after I hear...
Well Im kind of taken back on this whole sitiation, No! this work is on there dime here they built it they fix it if not its possibly going to another machine shop that specificly works on mopar engines. I had the choice to do this at the start but I was convinced from a lot of people they could...
I think what they are saying is they are restricting the oil flow to the upper end by adding oil restrictors to reduce flow. I believe its a Mel M63 high volume with a 3/8" pick up tube, hemi 6 qt. oil pan. Oil pressure is 44 lbs. at idol and does not seem to go much higher as the rpms are...
Latest on the noisy valve train
:head_smack:OK! so it has been a while now since the machine shop got around to looking at my motor and they decided to pull the motor out of the car and tear it down for closer inspection. They found the valve springs on the heads the tention was a bit to strong...
Yes! I have a 69 440 with Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers, Edelbrock rpm heads, ultradyne custom grind cam. I have I believe lower oil pressure than I thought I should have had about 43 PSI, noisy valve train, and lifters bleed down very quickly. MY car is at the machine shop they pulled the...

I have this same set up on my 65 plymouth satillite and works great so far, fan is a 19" chrystler steel and heavy but, if it cools my engine thats a good thing.
I had issues with my 440 heating up in my 65 plymouth satillite last summer so I decided to get serious about fixing the problem. Brand new rebuilt motor heated up to 220/230 degrees after about 10 miles of driving. It turns out the motor mounts on the car was homemade and way off of position...
Thanks 67 B Body I was hoping I would get that question answered in favor of the tranny being tuff enough to run those 4:30 gears. I believe the cam and 3000 stall converter specs has me recommended for around 4:10 so I would think it would be fine to go up a notch.
