    Stickers on quarter glass

We all remember the old days of street racers with go-fast stickers on the quarter glass. Some guys called it a shopping list for thieves. Does anybody still put them on their nostalgia cars? Gus

MSD repair from Mag Tech ignition repair

I have a spare MSD 6AL that I was going to send to MSD for repair and I stumbled upon the repair and testing facility called MagTech in Indy. Has anybody here ever used this company before? The last box I sent to MSD is still going strong after 20 years but I got this spare just in case. Gus

    Aftermarket heater for 64 Savoy

Thirty years ago when I bought my Savoy the heater valve was leaking on my foot and I couldn't find the parts to fix it so I removed the whole thing. Years go by and my heater box is now long gone because I was racing it and didn't need it. Now it's a street car and would like to put a heater...

    E85 conversion

I am building a spare carb to try E85 using the Quickfuel conversion metering block kit. Has anyone here used this kit before? My compression is too high now since a recent cam change. I have a mix of race fuel in it now and it runs good with no detonation but when I run straight pump 93 I have...

Gear quality and getting a good set-up

I've been setting up gears for about 30 years now but lately I have been getting some poor results with the current gear sets. I have to spend more time getting a decent pattern and there is much more compromise between the drive and coast patterns. To get a decent coast pattern I need to put...

4 piston Wilwood brakes vs single piston stock brakes.

I got a set of Wilwood Dyna-lite Pro brakes very cheap and I'm ready to install them on my street/strip Savoy. They use a small 4 piston caliper not much bigger than the Wilwood rear brakes I have on the car now. I'm not doing any road racing or autocross stuff only about a dozen passes down the...

    Inexpensive pin gauge set

I've been doing some carb tuning and I realized that I need some pin gauges to check jets, air bleeds, etc... There are some cheap ones on Amazon that have good reviews for being sized correctly. Anybody here use them or can recommend a set that would work for under $100. Thanks Gus

    Victor 440 intake surprise

I recently put a small street (528/244) solid roller in my 493 and have been running a Performer RPM intake and it runs pretty good. I recently took it to the track to see how the new cam swap runs now. I bolted Victor 440 intake on so I could wind it up a little higher. I was surprised at how...

Cranking compression higher after cam swap

I changed from a pretty rowdy flat tappet cam to a milder street roller cam and now my cranking compression is over 200-210 PSI. My cranking compression used to be 185-190. I might need to step up to E-85 with the new cam. I never ran a roller cam before so is this a normal condition ? Gus

Mallory 695 Hyfire box made by MSD?

Holley is selling these Mallory 695 Hy-Fire boxes very cheap with a built in 2-step limiter. I have read a few posts on a search that says they are made by MSD. I just was wondering if anyone has used this box before. I do like the rotary dials for the 2-step instead of modules. Thanks Gus...

I'm looking at portable blue tooth speakers to use with my Sirius XM app to listen to at work and in my Savoy. Looks like JBL has some of the best reviews like the Charge 3 for sound quality and durability. What do you guys have and like or what brand to stay away from? Thanks Gus

    Solid street roller cam discussion

I have an older Isky solid roller cam that I have installed in my Indy head 493 wedge. It is very small for a roller with 528 lift 240 dur 110 separation. I have a set of Howard's lifters that I'm planning on using. I think I will be OK with setting the lash tight and mild springs and keeping...
