Thanks....can't believe it's been 16 years since I started the restoration which took three years! Still have the car and in '09 added a B5 blue Challenger SRT, and in '16 added a B5 blue Charger Hellcat to the fleet! Even gave them names!
Did the same thing...except I bought the car new, had it ever since. Daily driver until 1989...parked & pickled, started resto in 2003, finished 2007. Did all of it in my garage with the help of a good buddy. A few random images...out of several thousand pictures I took. Process was made...
Not to mention some cars have multiple build sheets. My Beeper had three. The "correct" one, a second one under the passenger's seat, and a third one under the springs of the rear seat back. Original was behind the springs under the rear seat cushion, and I had removed it when I bought the car...
I restored my one owner (me) '72 Beeper so pretty familiar with the parts since I tore the entire car apart. Not sure but think those "clips" might be the "locks" that hold the wiper arms on the shaft.
I put a Holley Terminator system in my 72 Road Runner GTX. Opted to get a fuel tank with the pump installed from Modern Muscle Xtreme (Martinsville, VA) based on a recommendation from a friend who builds Mopar muscle cars and has used MMX many times. Cost was about $700 for the whole shebang...
Update to "Too Blue Two", it's now "Too Blue Three" with the addition of a 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. I also "named" the cars. The Beeper is "Old Muscle", the Challenger is "New Muscle", and the Hellcat is "Grocery Getter"!
My 1972 Road Runner GTX (440 4bbl) had the GTX emblem on the trunk on the "wrong side", i.e. it was on the driver's side as opposed to the "right side" of the passenger side, where the round bird decal is. Why? Have no idea. But since I bought the car brand new at Katy Road Chrysler Plymouth...
Don't know how far you went in trying to find the "build sheet", but my car had three. I found the original one under the rear seat cushion. (that just snapped out) When I started taking the car apart for the restoration I found a second one under the rear seat back, which was bolted in (as...
My 1972 Road Runner, with a/c, had no sticker on the window. I know this for sure as (a) I am the original & only owner, (b) all the glass is original.
I might add when I restored the car I replaced the V twin compressor with a newer Sanden unit and R134 refrigerant. Also replaced the...
Can't help much. Only '73 Road Runner I've seen belonged to a guy in our local Mopar Club and left probably 8 years ago. Searched all my photos and can't find a single one of his car. I do remember it was red and had a 340 engine, and I would guess didn't have many parts that were the same as...
The "honeycomb" and the center grille parts are from a '72 along with the light "bezels". The other parts in the pictures are not a part of the "grille hardware".
Here's a pix of that "stuff". It's accurate since it came off my '72 original Road Runner (I bought it new, kept it, and restored...
Yes...just about every thing changed. The grill, fenders, bumpers, all were different. The '71 & '72 were similar since they were the Mopar answer to the banned "winged cars" of 1970. In '73 NASCAR outlawed the Hemi and Chrysler stopped "playing". Hence the "aero" cars went away. This was...
One word of caution...a 1971 grille is different that the 1972, as in '71 the Road Runner had a Satellite grille with the small birds head in the middle. In 1972, and only in 1972 there was a totally different grille on the Road Runners. That's why, if you find one, (all four pieces) it can be...
I have an all original, one owner (me) 1972 Road Runner GTX. The GTX prior to 1972 was simply a Satelitte with a 440 and had BIG "GTX" emblems. In 1972 the GTX was a Road Runner with a 440 and had smaller GTX emblems. One on each fender, just behind the wheel well and one on the trunk lid...
This is a genuine 1972 Plymouth Road Runner grille. It was UNIQUE to 1972 and no other year had it. My Road Runner was purchased new by me in 1972 and I am the one and ONLY owner. Drove it until 1989, parked it, then started restoration in 2003, complete in 2006.
I have literally hundreds of...
