Thanks!! Know of a couple local yards with plenty of old B Vans as well as some old Mopars. Would be much cheaper and quicker to be able to replace just the rod and spring.
Lines were correct. Was the gearbox, pulled the relief valve body (steering body, whatever that lil assembly is called), and the lever and spring underneath were sheared off.
Ok so hate to bring this back up, but did that check. No pressure at all. So got another pump hooked everything back up, started the car and steering wheel jerked counterclockwise and nearly took my hand off!! Thinking bad relief valve?? Something didn't fit back together right. Left it running...
Got everything back together, put in fresh fluid and fired it up. I could see fluid being swished and moved around the reservoir, even splash out, so pump is obviously working. No difference in power assist (or lack thereof) when I rev engine up either. So I'm at a loss.
Well, started cleaning stuff while I got it all out and gonna reinstall everything tomorrow (later today, it's 6am EST now), to try and figure out the culprit for sure. Would take 2 or 3 days til I got my new (reman) pump anyways.
I know modern day rack and pinion setups need 'bled' when...
Was cruising around about a week ago and lost power steering. There was a whine and slight vibration then steering became numb and difficult. I'm suspecting power steering pump, but before I order one, is it possible it could be the steering chuck or the valve body atop the steering chuck? I ask...
Mine gave up the ghost the just the other day while goin for a drive. Some steering wheel vibration then nothing, no more power steering, babied it home. Time to visit the local pick and pull ha.
I do like Firm Feels products though, had a Stage III power chuck in my Coronet. Muy bueno...
$6500 Anyone???
Would like to sell before I start my new job in a few weeks.
Listening to partial trades/cash as well.
Can also throw in a 440 for interested buyer. Would need gone thru. At least rings and bearings.
Sweet, thanks for all the feedback everybody. Sounds pretty straight forward. McLeod sounds right in my budget. Now just to get everything ordered and swapped. Thanks again!
Brewer's is about a 35min drive for me :)
Not getting many bites on the ad and I still drive it, so might as well enjoy it right? haha
Anyways so about to replace my first clutch on my first 4 speed Mope and wondering which one I need? Local parts store came up with 3 or 4 different clutch sets. This is typical generic chain auto...
Only had this car a couple months, but found something (another Mope) locally I would very much like to have haha
The 'Ratty Satty', as I sometimes refer to it, (and if that gives any indication of it's condition lol) is tagged and driving, I drive it often actually. From NY car is...
Thanks!! Ran a 451 in my last car and really liked how it ran, so may go that route with this one.
Also, small error, PNT is EE1 not BB1 as I thought. Was Dark Blue not Black.
Sold my Coronet a month or so ago, and finally found my 4 speed project. Had to go all the way to NY (state) from SW Ohio for this one, but well worth it.
Car is originally a Black 383 4bbl 4 Speed console car. Now has a pretty hot lil 360 on open headers (car also came with sidepipes :D )...

EDIT: Found an old price list (2011).
