Not Rallies, but yes 15x8's steel rims all around on a 73 Charger (tires 295/50/15 and 245/60/15), and 16x8 all around on a 72 Charger (tires 255/50/16 all around). These are 4 inch and 4.25 backspace. I believe the Rallye is 4-1/2 backspace which will fit even better.
If buying new tires, I...
A relatively inexpensive steel custom wheel. The centers could come in different colors at one point. I believe Appliance was one of the manufacturers. Have not seen them for sale for awhile, so I don't know if they are made anymore.
IMHO hub-centric wheels are better, but not critical. People have been running lug-centric mags on their cars for decades and suddenly now it's considered a problem? I run lug-centric wheels on my road race car well into triple digits for 40 minutes per race and they are smooth as silk. I just...
That looks good. Hard to tell, but it looks like if you had gone with the 275/60's in the back it would have been an issue at that ride height. I am a fan of the black wheel stock car look
I don't know anything about Jeep wheels, but assuming they are actually 15x8 (actual 9 inches total) and 3-3/4 backspace, and you are at stock ride height, you are going to rub the outer lips both front and rear on bumps with your planned tires.
Thanks. I'm putting stock car wheels on it and can't find any LH 45 degree taper lug nuts, thus changing them to RH. I'll keep looking - may change all of them to longer studs. That's a good idea.
I have @ 7 quarts. It's unbaffled as it is not necessary for my use, but could just have easily been done. It was way cheaper than a purchased pan, but took some time to build. You have to be be very cautious not to warp the pan rails. Mine was made from a "187" pan (not sure of original...
My 73 had 275/60/15 on 8 inch wide wheels when I first worked on the car (before I owned it). They don't look right and there is not enough fender clearance to really run them unless you crank the T bars to the sky and/or limit max steering. You will not be happy with them, I guarantee.
I have...
Stock-type disc brake conversions will fit fine with 15 inch wheels. If you go for oversize rotors and calipers, then should do your homework before buying wheels.
If you aren't going to change them at 20 years, then when?
I had tires delaminate at 13 years / 33k miles / 60mph. They looked fine. Luckily is was not a prized classic car.
$75 not a bad deal as long as you are not compromising on the size and offset you want. I'd pick out the ones that clearly have not been mounted.... they would not likely have been returned for the reason you are worried about.
"Torque Thrust D'd are too generic so you think you might go to poverty caps on steel wheels"?
There is nothing more than generic than steel wheels and poverty caps.
It's nothing to worry about if you can't feel a vibration / are not driving triple digit speeds / autocrossing or otherwise putting extreme loading on the wheel during cornering.
Yeah, disappointed that BFG stopped making the 16-inch BFG competition street tires. 255/50/16 is an older stock Vette size, so I thought they'd make them forever. Very few options now that are not autocross/full race.
But.... there's a problem with 15's? Bought a full set of Cooper Cobras...
