Thank you for the help, but tranny is staying in the car. I’ll clean up the exterior pin area outside case and glop on the RTV to plug it up.
Thank you Doug.

It was new a year ago. I now see the repair manual torque is too much. Pinched so much that cork corners are breaking away. But the undercarriage is well oiled. Don’t need the undercoating.
Excellent insight. I’ll be dropping the pan to replace my cheese melt sandwich gasket. Is the O ring a part bought individually or from a trans kit? I like the idea of the reusable pan gasket, I would think it would need longer pan bolts?
What am I looking at, and how do I stop it from weaping? Pics are looking at rear of transmission. Also installed cork gasket, checked pan for straight clean gasket surface, torqued fasteners according to service manual and still have leak at gasket. Any other suggestions?
Very good intel ckessel. I appreciate the insight on the gasket and ATF specific sealer. I’ve had my fill of the smell of the tranny drip on the exhaust. Though the undercarriage is well oiled and rust resisatant.
Thanks again
Looking at this old post, have to ask did the above recommended reusable gasket work at sealing the tranny pan?
Also does that gasket number fit the early Torqueflites? I look up that 2464324AC number and 2001-2009 trans comes up.
After talking to some fellow FBBOs at Carlisle, I checked my trans slide yoke play for just what you’re saying. I have 3/4” play/slide at trans slip yoke. Also checked slide yoke for any wear but saw none.
I’m still chipping away at the stone (the vibration). Seems a new set of motor...
I am chasing the same highway speed vibration on my 66 Satellite. My vibe happens sporadically between 65 and 75 mph. Having read the previous responses and purchasing a magnetic protractor and following the Spicer Driveline Angle Calculator recommended in someones post, I have 1.5 deg at...
I bought car 5 months ago as is. Previous owner same. I have no history on trans or engine swap. car was originally 318 car. Looks like a '66 440 and not sure what year trans was installed. So I have no info on fluid changes. I have read slow reverse engagement could be clogged filter like the...
