Very possible it's the lock mechanism that's causing the problem.
If the key operate rod or the lock rod to the knob is tripped or stuck nothing will happen. Both have to be in the unlock position before tripping the latch lever inside the door.
That stinking little rod from the key to the...
Very nice , it is rare these days to find a car that solid. Questions...... hard to tell by the pics but does the car need painted?
Is the mileage / history known on the 440 ?
Sport Satellite package still in place is worth a little more JMHO. Most have been cloned to RR or Xs
That is a find...
I would bet your 1st guess was correct. A bad batch of recon water pumps making their way through napas system.
It happens, ps pumps , alternators , ect ect.
The old bead blast and rebox rebuild. Sucks.
I use napa myself for many parts, hell next week it could be Advanced or Autozone going...
In the 80s we had a 1970 340 cuda 4spd car with the elasto/rubber bumpers.
It was in F8 green and I never thought it looked cheap ect.
My old 67 had crap chrome so I did go cheap on it LOL.
just work on one side at a time. check your witness marks on the hinge to inner fender bolts and see if they have slipped.
If its tight. back the bolts off just enough to still have a good amount of drag on the hinge.
take off the hood latch, now pull the hood down very slow and put it were you...
Cant really tell with the angle of the picture but could you run a little longer belt to get it to drop away from the tray or shorter belt to get it out from under it ?
There are many good engine builders on here { Im not one of them} they can help but will need more info from you,
What engine do you have ?
Is the engine pretty much stock ?
milled heads or block ?
after market valve springs ?
Just general info on the engine will help them.
Lots of things...
Only reason I brought that up Fran is I ran into that on my 67 with 14" wheels. My tie rod ends had not been adjusted even when installed by prev owner. My wheels both had the same back space but the left tire sidewall was only aprox 1/8" away from contact after new tires went on {tires had just...
This is off the wall, but if your using 14" steel wheels did each go back to the side it came from ?
some of the b body tie rod ends run real close to the tire side wall on 14" 70/60 series. depending on adjustment.
if one of the wheels has a different off set and has switched sides it could be...
should be inside under the dash in the box/plenum just a on/off valve with the heat/temp cable hooked to the arm just before the core.
I will google and see if I can find a good pic.
Didn't find a good pic of a 70, yours may be outside close the the firewall unlike my non a/c 67.
I seen a 72...
We take our 67 all over, out for supper, walmart , ect. It was a 318 car now has the 383 & 3:23 sure grip in it, scratchs and a small ding or two, grandkids eat ice cream in it. Couple years ago I loaded up the G kids in the winter after a snow and we went to the ball field parking lot and spun...
I have the 1st gen pertronix and their matched coil on my 383 mounted in a Dorman reman points style distributor.
By passed the ballast resistor and have the solid state black voltage reg, Its been good for a long time now, set the air gap with the little plastic gauge and never looked back...
Since your running a edelbrock carb have you blocked the heat cross over , many aftermarket intakes still cast them in also the oem intakes have them. That will help hot start issues with eddy carbs.
Just my 2 cents what your doing or thinking of doing is the best low cost way of converting your /6 car.
You will have a ton of needed parts at hand, Much of the C body stuff will not cross over but then again a lot of it will, Radiator , throttle cable , ect ect just many parts you will not...
FYI, speedway motors in Lincoln NE. has complete Vintage Air set ups for mopar A, B, C bodies on sale for $1,350 to $1,500 this month, Just seen their new catalog at the shop.
Been awhile since I have seen them but lots of parts outlets used to stock over load shocks, mainly for station wagons , cars pulling boats or campers ect. They were a heavy duty oil filled shock with a coil spring installed on them.
with the trailer off or load off the car would sit a inch or...
Just me, But I would finish it as a sport satellite with the 440 upgrade, far less sport satellites running around these days because of all the cloned RRs. Good luck finding a sport sat at a car show these days. LOL , heck slap a 383 pie tin on the air cleaner lid and most would never know the...
