I bought this one a while ago. I didn't have much luck with it. I used the stock adjustment needles with a small flex screw driver instead. I would try a small flex driver with a 90 degree attachment first.
You have both. Someone teed off the oil line from the factory sending unit and added a mechanical one. Sometimes you need to bleed the air out of the line. Be very careful if you decide to bleed it or you will have a big mess! A deep bucket filled with paper towels will prevent it from...
Had a very similar problem. I checked everywhere for a vacuum leak. Someone suggested warped base plates. Finally I decided to use two thick gaskets on each carb. Problem solved!
You shouldnt have to bend the choke rod. You have to bend the square tab that rests on the fast idle cam. This will determine your idle speed while the choke is on. Use a needle nose or a screwdriver to bend it. Fits right into the slot. The actual choke gets adjusted by the spring on bottom...
The CH6 was the second or third over the counter manifold. The A12 (original) is on the bottom and the CH6B (first over the counter) on the top. I would like to see the part number, this would help.
Developed a leak at the lower gasket on the pump. I took it apart to clean out the old gas. Its been sitting 1 year with only about 1 hour of use on the pump. When I removed the lower portion I found a black square hard sponge. Ive never seen this. Could this have caused a problem with the check...

first Weird 6 no CH6, original A12
then regular 6 with no CH6, late A12
then regular 6 with CH6, early over the counter 72-76
then chopped 6 with CH6B, late over the counter 77-79
then 8 over the 6 with no CH6B, latest over the counter...
