I did the same thing last year. I have single stage paint and it was not cheap to repair my fender. Looks great and no problem with the paint matching.
There is a place a few miles from my house that can strip and re-anodize the parts. They do not repair or paint the parts. So, maybe 5.7 can get them to look nice before they are anodized. Does he also paint the parts? Time for a PM to 5.7 Hemi. Thanks everyone.
I called Totally Auto to see if they can anodize, paint and recondition my 1969 Coronet R/T grille and headlamp bezels. They have not returned my call and I read this morning in Mopar Collectors Guide that Dave Ferro is somewhat retired. Does any one else re-anodize and restore grilles?
Thanks
I picked up my R/T last Thursday from Pro Comp Customs. They did a great job on repairing the fender and they also noticed that the cowl was starting to rust underneath a patch job that was covered with lead. I have to post the finished job later today. The company that repaired it (he did...
I had my bumpers replated by Paul’s Chrome in Evans City, PA and they were $900.00 a bumper. They look great and it was about a half hour north of my house. Maybe too far for you in the Midwest.
The guy that did my R/T retired last year. He was working part time for the shop owner when he did my car. I guess he has other competent painters, but it would be nicer if the original painter was still working. His name is Mike and he worked at Ray Donch Body Werks in Franklin Park PA (about...
It is single stage paint. The hood and the driver side door are bondo queens so I have a doors and a hood in my warehouse to transplant when I get it done again in a few years. The quarters are reproduction so they are in better shape then the rest of the metal. Nobody makes Coronet fenders so I...
I feel like the biggest idiot and had a hard time sleeping last night. I took my Super Bee to work, but I had my wife as a spotter while I backed out of the garage. I have to drop it off next week to have them ascertain the damage and correct it.
It was supposed to be a beautiful day in Pittsburgh Friday so I decided to take my 1969 Coronet R/T to work. I was backing out of my garage, which I must have done a couple million times, and for some turned the wheel to the left. I heard the terrible, ominous sound of metal on metal and hoped...
Paul’s Chrome Plating in Evans City PA did mine for $900.00 a bumper. Expensive, but they did a great job on my front and rear bumpers and they are about an hour drive from my house.
I think those push on and cut into the studs. The barrel clips are for the emblem that go into the body panels. Hopefully someone can help you better than me. Maybe take the grille out?
I have gloss on my R/T from Phoenix and it looks great with the contrasting yellow body paint. I have a white stripe on my red Super Bee. I am not sure about originality of flat over gloss, but gloss should look good on your red paint.
