I noticed that this piece of trim on the inside passenger side of the GTX hangs down a little because the clips do not seem to be holding it into the place. My assumption is I can just replace these clips and snap it back up into place. Not sure what these clips or what the piece of trim is...
Certainly informative. Although I am still not exactly clear how that thing mounts in the dash. I will have to inspect the pieces I have more closely and compare them to that listing. Thanks.
My 69 GTX came with a clock in the dash instead of a tachometer. I believe that the little clock knob is broken because it won't seat right on the winder coming out of the dash. Can someone who has this clock in their GTX (or similar) snap a close up picture of that knob so I can see what it...
I admittedly did not but I had it in a shop recently that disassembled and removed the entire column. I trust that the guy doing the work knows what he was looking at since he is a Mopar guy. This is what it looked like inside with the wheel off. The second pic is obviously the full column.
I have come to the conclusion that the steering column may be wrong in this car. The switch and horn will not work because of the gap in between the wheel. I am pretty certain the wheel is correct which leads me to believe the column is wrong. Thinking maybe a power steering column (which I...
Yeah, this strange issue has me thinking the column isn't correct. It steers fine and the turn signal switch works. But the wheel does not seat down far enough to actuate the horn button and the tabs on the canceling switch do not catch to cancel the turn signals. Its certainly driveable, and...
I admittedly did not do the restoration on this car and am trying to track down some of the paperwork on that, so I cannot say for certain if the column was restored. The horn didn't work and the turn signal switch was acting funny (including not canceling) when I bought the car. We pulled the...
I have finally gotten my GTX road ready after working through a lot of quirky issues. While everything is good for driving, there is one weird issue that still remains. The steering wheel doesn't seem to want to go all the way down on the column, and as a consequence the horn doesn't work and...
I have what might be a stupid question. Is there a way to adjust the height of the head rests on the back of the bucket seats on my 69 GTX? My 69 A-body did not have headrests, so I am unfamiliar with if they can be adjusted or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
After all my effort, it didn't matter. Installed a new bulb and the light still didn't work. Not going to waste much time trying to trace down the problem.
Actually didn't have to do much to get to the bulb. Removed the two screens under the console door. The top plate could be lifted enough to remove the bulb without interfering with the shifter or anything else.
Does the console have to come out of the floor to remove the top plate? I remember pulling the console out in my A-body, but don't have the same experience with this B-body.
The bulb under the gear indicator in the console of my GTX is blown. Does anyone have a recommendation on the easiest way to get to this bulb to replace it without having to take apart the console? Thanks.
Car is a 1969 GTX. I believe the pin is lost because I don't see it in the car. Any recommendations on what my solution would be then? I can't find a replacement part on the interwebs.
On my car, the passenger side vent window handle has been pulled off of the stud on the inside of the vent window frame. It appears that the handle should have a small set screw to keep it attached. Anyone have a picture of what that set screw looks like and any idea where I could get one? I...
