so I finally got around to pulling the trans out of the charger after the no 1st/no reverse issue. I pulled it because I wasn't happy with the converter and the seal leaked slightly. I'm no expert on these at all but working on heavy machines for most of my life I have plenty of hydraulic...
pulled the charger on the lift just to look at things before winter sets in I won't drive it. I let it down to move it for storage and it would not back up unless I spin the motor up then it moves away slow. So I guess I have a winter project.
I installed a mini starter on my 440 but I cannot remember the brand. But I had to get the adapter from mancini to move the wiring away from the block. Outside of that works great

The old McCormack inline and later IH engines were and still are smooth as silk. I used to have an old farmall m but sold it.
I am partial to the two cylinder sound of the big deere engines. I have an 830 diesel also I need to restore.
