Not sure. But I remember seeing ones in that condition put thru the crusher when I worked a yard in the late 80’s. I guess that would be a good price in 2023.
Actually the factory could use lights or reflectors in ‘68-‘69. None of the other American companies put reflectors on, just Chrysler in ‘69. On January 1, 1970, all cars were required to have side marker lights and reflectors.
And with the 5/50, if it was still in effect in ‘72… many cars had the speedometer disconnected for a while. I remember a whole summer of going down the shore in my Dad’s ‘68 Satellite, and the speedo “didn’t work”.
An eloquent Ford guy once said… “Why do you guys make it so hard on yourselves?” He was referring to matching # block thing that Mopar guys hold in such reverence. It literally mattered on a GM car of that period, because the VIN did not specify what engine the car came with. So the engine VIN...
I was actually being sarcastic. I have two ‘70 V code cars, and read for years about “Six Pack” rods, and the external balance of the Six Pack engine. Over the years I realized all 440 blocks stamped HP or HP2, F440 and G440 had those parts from the factory. 4bbl, and 6 bbl. Aren’t all ‘69 440...
The guys that make money are the flippers. Or if you bought your cars back in the 80’s. I have less than $2000 in my 70 Charger R/T, E87 D21. I almost let it go back in 2012. Guy offered $12k and I would have let it go for $13.5k. I’m glad I punted on that one, because I don’t even see 318 cars...
I wasn’t sure... my HP’s are 1970.
My ‘68 2 door Satellite that I’m building as a GTX has the SO from the fender tag on the rad support. It’s a St. Louis car. My 2 other 68’s, a wagon and a 4-door are Lynch Rd. and have a blank rad support.
Back around 2000 I bought a 23 spline box that had the full VIN on it RM21H.
Yours if early production will have the full VIN. If later will have 9 for ‘69 the plant letter, then the last 6 #’s of the VIN on the dash.
Since you know what your car was you will have the full VIN to do a search.
