    This was back in the 1980's. I think it was just one of the $19.95 seperator plates, removing balls, balls and upping pressure. Just because it shifts hard doesn't mean it is shifting good.

    Had that happen to a 727. It was not the front clutch pack, but a crack in the valve body. Some JB Weld fixed it (I was 200 miles from home at the time.)
