If you poured some gas down throttle body to try and start it. I would think that would eliminate the sniper as it's not flooded. I pour a little gas it the carbed cars in the spring so they start with the first crank. Could you try holding you finger it a plug hole to see if you get spark...
1)Will it crank if you jump the starter( car in park, foot on brake) 2) Does the neutral safety switch have a good ground. 3) Is the wire from the transmission grounded when in park and neutral. 4)Is the wire from the ignition switch hot when turned to start.
I put a 440 in a 318 charger . I believe I only changed length for coil a distributor. Put a six pac i 68 RR. I remember having to add a wire thatt was keyed hot for the iidle solenoid.
I was on a road trip. The engine stated running rough and finally died and and wouldn't restart. When I removed the condenser it started and ran fine. Dont recall if I had another to replace it, drove it 3 hours to my destination and 6 back.
