Slightly off topic but I bought a Liland aluminum radiator from RockAuto. It looked to be a very well made piece but the stock fan shroud did not fit. I could have hacked it up to make it work, but the shroud was worth more than the radiator so I sent it back.
I've used Scott and he does do top notch work, but should need another source, I recently had a carb done by Woodruff Carburetor Specialties and it came out awesome. Dave (the owner) tests and tunes each carb on a mule before sending them out. Here is a link from the A Body site...
IIRC, (been a while since working on a sb) the eccentric has a small slot that indexes the camshaft keyway. If the cam bolt is loose, the eccentric could be freewheeling and the cam sprocket wobbling, producing your erratic timing. Just a WAG on my part.
