If I remember correctly the '66 and newer K frames moved the engine back. However, stated earlier in this post they move the engine forward when used in a '62. Can someone provide a definitive answer? I have a '69 K frame I was planning on using for a big block swap and now am wondering if I am...
I trust the shop that did it! They have done lots of work for me over the years and it has all been exceptional. They are not a "Production Shop" so it cost more but I prefer this method. BTW thanks for your photos!
Thanks for everyone's comments I appreciate it.
I have a '62 Savoy that I purchased 5 years ago in RI. My son and I flew in and drove it home to Texas. It was a great trip, took 7 days, a radiator and fuel pump along the way. Met lots of great people everywhere, especially fuel stops.....(" Hey...
Not sure this is the appropriate place to post this but since it is '62 specific I start it here. This is a '62 Plymouth 4 door to 2 door wagon project that I think is really cool. After some negotiation I would probably be a buyer IF I didn't already have a '62 Savoy 4 door to 2 door project...

So looks like there was a different K frame which would accommodate.
When is there too much rear bias 51%? or more? What is the factory weight distribution by model? Is there a reference guide? I found 54% front 46% back for a '64 Belvedere Sedan as stated on this site by a member. Trying to keep this with in the scope of '62 - 65" to make it more manageable...
I am looking for information on weight bias/front to back on early 60's Mopars. I have several and know that they are front end heavy. I am trying to figure out the best way to go about improving the handling and braking as it relates to weight bias. I know all the things you can do to remove...
Agree, when mine was done I used the front doors from a 2 door since they are longer. I have a Savoy and was able to find those doors. However, I could not find the rear side window and quarter section from a Savoy so used a '62 Dart and the rear door skins from the 4 door car. No need to...
For those of you who may be interested in purchasing an HDK product I am posting the email I received from Denny. My question to Denny was about engine set back and if he could provide his suspension with the engine perches moved rearward. I have used '67 and newer K frames in a couple of '64...
Anyone using an HDK suspension on their '62? I want to purchase one with the '66 and later engine position. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this.
Does not look like a Max Wedge rocker set. Owner states it is date coded 1962 with an HP stamped on the pad. He is about 200 miles away and I am considering having a look but never considered it was a Max Wedge Block. Maybe something that was rebuilt using the Max Wedge block and standard heads IDK.
