You don't have to remove the tank. I replaced my grommet with tank in place. Make sure the fill tube is not distorted at the tank end. Clean it till it's smooth, apply a little dish soap to make it slide in.
Trying to install hard line from pump to carb, the outlet on my pump is on the front side/inlet toward rear of car. I have looked at previous threads showing outlet toward front of car. (Carter pump). Are some pumps reversed this way? Thanks in advance!
