You don't have to remove the tank. I replaced my grommet with tank in place. Make sure the fill tube is not distorted at the tank end. Clean it till it's smooth, apply a little dish soap to make it slide in.

I have a Holley 600 cfm Street Warrior carb on my 383 bored .040, DP4B intake, Hedman Hedders, 727, 3:55 gears. Is this enough carb?

Be sure to replace the rubber grommet where the fill tube goes into the tank.

It was on the car when I got it, can't see a part #, but it looks just like a Carter M-3672s which is what came on them from the factory.

Sorry, the 1/2"x20 outlet to carb is pointing to rear of car.

Trying to install hard line from pump to carb, the outlet on my pump is on the front side/inlet toward rear of car. I have looked at previous threads showing outlet toward front of car. (Carter pump). Are some pumps reversed this way? Thanks in advance!

I was a SFI tech inspector at our local dragstrip. No plastic! I realize that's for racing but it makes sense on the street also.:thumbsup:

This maybe an unwanted suggestion but....ditch the plastic fuel filters and get a NAPA Gold.

I had same problem. Ordered new neck & grommet from MrMoparts in Arizona. No more problem.

I thought that's why we liked our old cars....no damn ECU to crap out!
