I don't recall an A12 in that color. Must have been pretty rare.
In spring of '71 the local Dodge dealer had a sale of A12 cars, about two dozen. Mostly all dealer demo's. Low mileage 2500 or less. Most every color I knew of. All at $1,200. Even one or two Runners.
If I only had the cash & my...
I prefer the post for the '65 cars for sure.
Took me several months before I realized that the '68 Road Runner had a "post" version in early '68. Looked the same to me at the time.
Generally the post cars are lighter. To each their own!
Their customer service was really good. The delivery time was exactly what said it would be. The quality of the hood & scoop was excellent. Body man had almost no prep in order to paint.
Ya a lift off hood would be tough for me alone on my Satellite. No problem on my Arrow, but that was 30+...
My '66 Satellite got an AAR hood with tall '66 Hemi scoop with hinges. It's not real light but very stout. I used stock hinges with lite hardware store springs and front pins, no stock latch. It's great. Maintenance would be easier with a lift off hood though. Just sayin.
If you replacing everything but the frame rails, move the springs into the frame rails & do a full tub. Then the only limit is the shape of the quarter panel. My Satellite has moved springs, full tubs, narrowed Dana. It has 325/50-15 Street Drag radials. Would take more.
I always thought the buckets in my '70 Barracuda were comfortable, many long trips included. But I was 18 to 24 years old at the time, LOL. Add the plates on the console side.
I used a propane torch & STIFF scrapper. Be careful of the hot melting undercoat. I may try to ignite, but usually blows out easily, have water handy. Takes time. I used brake clean & rags on the residue. Got fairly clean but not any show quality.
I got mixed reviews from those I talked to about Unlimited. Unlimited was the least expensive when I decided on my AAR hood. My experience with less costly fiberglass body parts was not good, but hear what the actual owners of Unlimited have to say.
Well my memory may not that good. That seems really high, what did it sell for? I was in Denver in June 1968, the dealer down the street was selling '68 Runners for $1995. In 1969 the dealers wanted a little more. My guess is the dealer did not get $3170.
