How to tell if its a street wedge car?

My '65 Coronet post car had a very modified 426 wedge and 4 spd. It had obviously been a drag car for much of it's life. I have no idea what the fender tag said, didn't care. It did have a sway bar that I removed, but it had 10" drums all around. Others will know what is OEM.

    Low Dough Radiator

It seems like $200 is high, but I'm liv'in in the past. Re-coring may be difficult, hardly any radiator shops in my area due to the regs. Good luck.

    Oil Pressure port issue/resolved

I suspect we all needed to learn somehow. I know I did.

    Oil Pressure port issue/resolved

I sure wouldn't trust oil on the rockers as an indicator. Prime it and watch the oil get around the rockers, both sides. Maybe a bad gauge. You can feel on the drill motor when the oil pump is primed and forcing oil into all the needed places. After doing the priming, then check the fitting, try...

    Oil Pressure port issue/resolved

In the pic is the line supposed to be connected to the fitting on the passenger side? If the line is connected it may need to be bled to get the air out. Did you prime the engine with a drill motor & priming shaft rotating the engine by hand and watching the oil to the rockers?

    New electronic ignition 65 Coronet

True, the actual application is the key. Again I know nothing about the Petronix or many of the other aftermarket products out there.

    New electronic ignition 65 Coronet

Good, you would know not me. I just know what the old Mopar stuff wanted.

    New electronic ignition 65 Coronet

Since you have the Petronix ECU, call them and ask what to use with the coil you have. My bet is that the Mopar guides may only apply to their ECU & coil combinations. I had an original Mopar Blue box ECU which had a special coil and ballast resistor combo, then a MSD 404 which had it's special...

    New electronic ignition 65 Coronet

jimbo, you do need to match the ballast resistor to the ECU and coil you have. Bypassing may work? The Mopar Perf/DC distributors were a quality product back in the day. Which ECU do you have?

    GLASS HOOD AND SCOOP

For my '66 I went with AAR. It's the hinge model with a '66-67 scoop, bolt on. It's not the lightest, but sure is stout. Sled City '64 product looked pretty good if you can get ahold of him.

    Mufflers

Good mufflers do make a difference. My Satellite came with a 500" EDE head .500 ish cam, motor. With the round "cherry bomb" style mufflers it ran 12.60's 104.5 MPH, open headers 11.80's 111.7 MPH. I wonder what real good mufflers do.

    another dumb question-maybe

I'm pretty darn sure flat hoods were fairly common. One reason they were such successful street racers. But been wrong before.

    another dumb question-maybe

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the majority of Max Wedge vehicles did not have scoops.

Who has had thier car weighed?

I'd say most cara as delivered, were above the advertised weights, some well above.

Who has had thier car weighed?

My '65 Coronet was down to 3350 with all steel body, fully gutted interior, no carpet, 1 plastic seat, 6 PT bar(VERY HEAVY), gutted doors w/ plastic windows, 125# battery in the trunk, no alt, alum WP housing, all iron 440 w/ tunnel ram. Edit: Dana 60, Centerline wheels, gutted dash, no heater.

    Leaf Springs for 1964

The ESPO leafs I had on my '66 were real good quality. Pretty sure they will make the 21" front segment style for you. Other option would be a local spring builder shop. That might get pricy.

You are correct, brain fade on my part.

Pretty sure a 489 would have the clutch style limited slip. Thought cone style came in with 741/742. Could be wrong. I prefer the clutch type myself. No idea what just the limited slip diff is worth, maybe 50% of cost of new one. Dr Diff has them new for $395.

    heads use

A numbers match '67 440 HP seems valuable. The 516's would work fine if you're not racing & looking for best ET. I'd still pocket port the 516's & put the 1.74 valves in them. I've done them for a 383, .500 ish lift cam, 69 Charger mostly stock, 12.80's.
