That's exactly what I did with the white pin style fastener. I drilled out the center and replaced the plastic pin with a small bolt, then fastened the trim with a nut on the underside of the fender, it worked well. Thanks for your offer but I was able to reuse the fasteners that I had.
I bought a couple of those spring loaded fasteners but they sat differently than the original ones, they cocked the trim higher on one side than they should be. I'm happy with my modification of the pin style fasteners, the trim is secure and sits correctly on the fender.
I figured out a solution to my inability to find the screw down trim fasteners. I took the pin style fasteners for my fender and ground down the little tabs on the bottom. I then drilled the hole where the pin goes a little larger I replaced the pin with a 8-24 bolt and mounted the fasteners to...
Thanks for looking, I'm going to try to modify a couple of the plastic pin types and add a nut and bolt to hold them securely. I tried to use them to replace the old ones and they didn't seat correctly so when I attached the trim they dented the trim because they sat a little too high. Gotta...
I have the ones that you describe, the other ones apparently are used as a backup to securely hold the end of trim piece in case the trim pops off the hard plastic fasteners.
I need 6 of the fasteners that hold the top fender trim on a 66 Satellite. I'm looking for the hard plastic fasteners that have the screw post attatched. Any help that can be provided will be appreciated.
Update- the guy polishing my trim has located and bought the drivers side quarter panel trim to replace the trim that was damaged. I still need the passenger side quarter panel trim. There's a NOS piece on ebay but the guy wants $350 for it. If anyone has a spare piece laying around please let...
I just heard from the shop that is polishing the upper trim for my 66 Satellite. He told me that the long quarter panel upper trim pieces were bent/damaged in the anodizing tank.
So now I'm on the hunt for the upper trim for both the driver and the passenger side upper quarter panel trim...
I'm looking to buy the center (above the radio) A/C vent for a 66 Belvedere or Satellite. The plastic louvers don't need to be in great condition, I'm mostly interested in the chrome frame and would like it to be free of damage or rust. Shipping would be to So. Cal. Thanks
I'm looking for Mopar brand Plum Crazy FHG-PHG 5oz rattle can spray paint. I bought a couple cans on ebay a couple years ago, but doesn't seem to be available now. I found a plum crazy from "Jeep" automotive but not sure if it's the same. If you have some of the Mopar brand in you paint cabinet...
I'm guessing a 66/67 Coronet would probably have the same type of latch as a 66/67 Satellite since they are kind of Mopar cousins. What I'm specifically looking for is the part that screws into the top frame of the glove box....it's about 2" long and is "L" shaped. One side is screwed to the...
I'm looking for the glove box latch that screws into the upper glove box frame. It's the piece that the glove box lock catches to close the glove box door. This would be for a 66/67 Belvedere, Satellite or GTX.
Cranky is correct the original centers are a slightly coned metal disc and not a sticker, I've had two 66 Sattys and familiar with those knob center pieces.
Back up lenses
Thanks for the offer, I found some decent lenses on ebay that have to be better than the ones on my car now. I'd still like to get some NOS or new repops, I'll just have to wait til they're available.
Does anyone know where I can find either NOS or remanufactured or good quality (no cracks etc) reverse light lenses for a 66 Satellite or Belvedere. They seem to be impossible to find, I can't figure out why no one offers a repop lens. Please help us Sat/Bel people.
