They are very thin - not sure what brand they are but I'm not a huge fan of them to begin with. Those TTI's look nice - will do that upgrade whenever I pull this motor out.

Ha yep - that will do it. Old headers that came on the car when I bought the car. Well easy enough fix. Thanks for the replies.

Perhaps I found the issue upon closer inspection.....time for new headers or get the welder out :)

I thought of that - so I went and bought studs to install to ensure the gasket is mated exactly where it should be on the cylinder head.

I have stamped steel valve covers on factory cast iron heads. Open to trying anything at this point in regard to gasket material, bolts or studs, spreaders perhaps in that back corner (will check plane of VC and top of head as well), Indian head, rtv, etc.
