I’ve done quite a bit of testing with 6 packs as well. Every car and combo likes something different. I’ve ran them on everything from 14 sec cars to 10 sec cars. I agree with the above as I set mine up for best ET at the track with slicks. If your tuning them on the street to not feel them...
Completely disagree. 240 isn’t a big head at all, even on a 440. I run a 6bbl on some Indy SR’s but they’re raised port. Definitely hike the intake up a bit. Shouldn’t be an issue with the Trickflow.
Well she’s treated me good for the last 7 years. I can’t even imagine how many hard street passes this engine has. She developed an intermittent noise internally. Still has good oil pressure and acts “ok”. Just can’t quite pin point what it is but, something isn’t happy. I was planning on a...
All depends on what you have to buy for the stock stroke engine. Need pistons, rods resized with good bolts, balancing? The cost of a stroker kit isn’t much more. Same deal with the heads, by the time you have a quality shop work over a set of old iron heads, you’re probably close to a new set...
The hyd rollers are very temperamental to the oil viscosity. Wouldn’t run anything heavier than driven 10w-40. It’s the centistoke rating of the oil that messes with them. I just built a big block Chevy with a hyd roller for a buddy. I kept the clearances a little tighter in the bottom end than...
Pretty stout cam for a driver with 3.55’s and a 5 speed. I’d get away from that 108. Probably something on a 110 230’s/240’s duration with as much lift as possible for the lobe family (general of course). You leaning towards solid or hyd? Those new comp hyd roller lifters with the replaceable...
@PRHeads, have you had a chance to test those new comp Hyd roller lifters other than the one big mopar you dyno’d last fall? Those sounded like a good option from that test.
I don’t get the whole stay stock stroke to save money. He’s already got the stroker crank on the shelf. Good rods and pistons cost the same for a 440 as they do a stroker. Personally I’d use cnc stealths and paint them orange. That’ll keep the stock look with more potential. Port the six pack...
