    Oil filter question

I guess I’ll be sourcing Baldwin filters until they prove to be Chinese. I will accept other North American built filters. But will pick USA first.

    Oil filter question

Well I’ve bought my last WIX filter. Changed oil in 2016 chrysler 300 3.6L. Filter made in china. And I was dumb enough to wait 12 hrs because Oreillys didn’t have one in stock.

Found my answer.....thanks very much...........Need HELP on 383 cam install hydraulic flat tappet....END PLAY?

The lifters are supposed to always be pushing the camshaft towards the rear of the engine. So if the lifters are sitting on the correct position on the cam with the upper cam sprocket also riding against the block you should not have to be concerned with any forward motion.

    Identifying a 383

best bet for which engine to use would be a compression test. Unless you’re planning an overhaul.

If you're depending on zinc to protect your flat tappet?

While I agree flat tappet cams days maybe numbered. I disagree that I could retrofit a roller for the same price. Cam core is more $, lifters more $, distrubutor drive gear change and wear issues there, cam buttons, timing set cover, thrust bearings, different push rods, then your getting into...

If you're depending on zinc to protect your flat tappet?

I lean towards, compatible with increasing they profit margins. I dont even really believe in diesel anti-gel treatments. How can a few ounces of something effect 30 gallons. I believe in #1 diesel when cold and cut that with kerosene when just plain frigid.

If you're depending on zinc to protect your flat tappet?

This is what I’ve learned though my readings. Now Im not a scientist or anything fancy just a guy that reads. If your depending on the zinc in your oil to protect your flat tappet cam, your looking at your oil backwards. Your first look should be looking at your oil’s ability to retain an oil...

rebuilt 318 knock noise around 2500

I once had a car with what I thought was a rod knock. It turned out it was a bolt backing out behind a windowed power steering pump pulley. It sure had me convinced.

440 Source CNC head review on YT

My labor can’t be done in China for pennies on the dollar. But by making products overseas by labor that isn’t paid a decent wage. And it leaves American’s sitting on the unemployment line or working for less than a living wage, just to to able to compete and have a job. I do my best to support...

440 Source CNC head review on YT

Its not that I don’t believe there isnt any quality in them. I just feel that being a lineman they can’t outsource my job to China, so in return I try to not support products where labor was outsourced.

    Pinging 505 help

Ill throw in my 2 cents. With open chamber heads and pistons without quench pads I believe 9.5-1 is a better CR. I believe you need a tight quench to run 10-1 or higher. While on the dyno and you do find it to actually be pinging. Might try retarding camshaft a few degrees.

What does RB stand for on a 440?

I still plan on having a factory crank re-worked. I just cant support China. Maybe S. Korea,S. Vietnam, even Taiwan. I sure it will cost even more.

Bumping up the 318 a bit

I thought that it looked like huge scale rust. If its sludge, send it.

Bumping up the 318 a bit

At the minimum you need to find some rockers and shafts. And then what Toolmanmike said.

    Pre-Oil or Not to Pre-Oil

Personally I think its being over cautious to pre oil. Fill oil filter and fire it up. But I got less $ in my entire car then you probably have in engine.
