    oil filter

Just curious. Whats causing the clearance issue on that engine? Looks like a manual steering box. The crank pulley doesn’t look to be interfering. Lower rad hose is the same Im guessing, I can’t see clearly on my phone.

    oil filter

I’m no expert this just the thoughts of a blue collar farm boy turned lineman. Sure, dirty oil, cold oil, a high rpm event where the pump moves more oil than the media can flow, filter can bypass. Being thats there is not a indicator for when it is in bypass, I will error on the side of...

    oil filter

As big of filter that I can fit on every vehicle I own. The little ones most likely don’t affect flow because they go into bypass sooner than a larger filter with more media. Why run a filter if it’s bypassing?

    mopar mega block

Well now I don’t know what to think. I understand mopar never install a crossbolted wedge block at the factory. But it’s entirely worth possible that the mh engine I seen was a replacement block. I should have grabbed it!

    mopar mega block

Stage3: So if I’m understanding this correctly. There is a cross bolted main wedge block? I could have shown I seen one in a motor home engine add on craigslist years ago. I didnt pay alot of attention to it at the time because I didn’t have a car then. Now I regret not picking it up.

    7 Qt pan/dipstick reading

Its one of those personal preference deals. When I think 7 qt pan, I think increased capacity, cooler oil, and maybe extended service intervals. I do see the lower oil level helping with windage and such. So I guess it boils down to whats the user’s end goal?

    7 Qt pan/dipstick reading

I would think unless you’re trying to lower the oil level in the pan maybe to reduce windage? The stock dipstick mark reads to the level chrysler engineers designed it to run at. I say fill to the full mark.

Leaving Power on the Table, 440

Need longer duration cam. That one is more suited to 383 than a 440 if you ask me.

    head gasket question

What about your quench distance? If you have a zero or positive deck piston height you may not want to run a gasket less than say .035. Piston to head collision is hard on rod bearings.
